Guest guest
Aw, Georga, what a mess. I am so sorry to hear that Chris's company is having difficulties; I do hope they don't go bankrupt. And sorry about the difficulties getting the kids evaluated. I'm surprised you aren't downing prozac by the handful. Salli
Guest guest
What does isn't ass kissing in the normal sense. I don't know how to explain it. Call it an " autistic obsession " about work. That is about the best that I can come up with. He has built so much stuff where he works and has put up so many circuits that not everyone knows what is going on. I mean, I guess that is a good thing. I told that being easy going is both good and bad. Because of it he will do extra stuff and all but at the same time he is the one that gets taken advantage of when a crap schedual comes along that someone has to fill. Let me see if I can explain this. They have to turn their time sheets in something like 10 to 12 days before checks come out. So, for his check on the 15th of this month he turned his time sheet in on the 3rd. Well, they have said that you are no longer allowed to predict overtime, even if it is scheduled, that they have to use this new electronic system and put in what they work every day. So, 40 hours is automatically paid. Anything over that goes on the next check. Normal paychecks they they get usually have 88 hours on them of straight time because of how they do the pay and how paydays fall and everything. So he is working 88 hours in two weeks, getting paid for 80 and then on the following check (two weeks later) he would get that extra 8 hours, plus any shift differential which is 10% (that isn't allowed to be " predicted " either, and it is paid two weeks behind), and any overtime which there is alot of with them being short people. And as screwed up as his company is we know that this is all going to get f'd up left and right. I mean, last year there were two or three paydays where no one got paid because someone in admin forgot to submit either the paperwork or the funds for the independent business that they hired to make out payroll checks. Do you know how rude is it to go to the bank to get money out knowing that everything is direct deposited, you have no food in the house, and you don't have the money in the account that you are supposed to? All three occassions that this happened had to borrow money from his boss where we could feed the kids until the stupid paychecks showed up where they were supposed to. They were talking about getting an union involved then. I think the crap that they are doing now is going to push everyone to that. The guys are expected to carry an on call cell phone in case someone needs them, and they are to be available 24/7 for this and now they are taking away the compensation for that. It was asked what happened if people refused to take the phones and Russ said that they would be fired, and it was asked what if everyone did it and Russ said he would be fired for not being able to control his employees. Isn't this just freaking wonderful?? Georga Hackworth Men, can't live with them, can't trade them in for their weight in chocolate. April is Autism Awareness Month! Guest guest
My dr. only gives it to me in limited supplies as needed. LOL! I only need prozac sometimes. Hmmm...I guess that means I am only crazy half the time and the other half of the time I am perfectly sane. Yea. Right. Guest guest
My comment to them would be I was looking for a job when I found this one.....I got into it with the last company I was with. Their timeclock would clock everyone out at 4:30 so if you left at 4:40 you didn't get that extra ten minutes. UNLESS, of course you clocked in and out again(what kind of shit is that?) But, if it was anytime after 4:45 you were clocked out on time. Well, needless to say the big boss bitched at me about showing up a few minutes late on several occasions. So I snapped back and told him I don't worry about all those times I work thru lunch, breaks, and stay late and still not get paid .....get off my back for being 2 minutes late or I will make sure I get all my lunch/break time and be compensated for my extra time after work. About a week after that blowout I was told I could not stay late any longer and that the superviser would have to take care of anything after 4:30......OH DARN! You mean I can go home on time???? > What does isn't ass kissing in the normal sense. I don't know how to > explain it. Call it an " autistic obsession " about work.
