Hi,

A good start would be to read through the FAQ's and files section.

Do not be in so much of a rush that you do things that are not

helpful and may be harmful. Read, ask a lot of questions and educate

yourself to best help your child.

Read the files section on this list and it will answer most all of your

questions. Blood test for metals will most likely give you false-negative

results, you need a hair test. Again the files section will explain all of

this, and yes no more immunizations!

Good starting with therapists, are you using First Steps? If not find out

about it in your local area and it will cover your therapists. Look into a

special needs early childhood program when she turns 3.

Best to you,

urine test done for her. Is this a good start? I am getting

everything done through a blood test except the excessive yeast test

which is urine. Is that ok? or should I get the heavy metals tested

through hair test instead of blood? Now what other step should I

She weights 35 pounds. Is this safe? Should this be done even if

no heavy leads show up in her system? How long does this chelatin

which I haven't gotten yet, I am scared to do so, I know I am NOT

Do a hair test and see how to order it and interprete it in the files

section.

My son was 23 mon when I started chelation and 25 lbs. There is

chelation and chelation. It all depends on the protocols (which

chelators, dosage and frequency). Some are reasonably safe, some are

not. Read as much as you can, and make your own decision. Do not rely

on a doctor (even a DAN! one) to tell you what to do. I saw three of

them before starting chelation and they all told me something

different! That's scary but it convinced me that I had to do my own

research, and I finally decided to go with Andy's protocol.

Do not give any more vaccins to your 9 mo at least until you educate

yourself. I also have a daughter who was 6 mo when my son was

diagnosed and I am so glad today (she is 25 mo) that I stop ALL

vaccinations, put her on a diet, some basic supplements and watch for

gut issues.

Hope this helps,

wow, congratulations for learning about biomedical issues of

autism so soon, and for taking action.

> urine test done for her. Is this a good start?

the " spirit " of finding physical issues is excellent.

The tests sound like good places to start to me, but I would

ask about HOW you are testing for metals, and would suggest

a DDI hair test

http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_hair_test.html

I also am not familiar with different allergy tests, and

no doubt there are many kinds that have various levels of

usefulness.

please read URL above.

read some of the books here:

http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Books_about_autism.html

I suggest Children with Starving Brains and

What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Childrens' Vaccinations

for start.

this?

In general you would do it by giving her pills which are used

to pull metals out. In general this is what " chelation " refers

to. Here are some introductions to chelation:

> She weights 35 pounds. Is this safe?

it is not entirely safe, but being metal poisoned is not at

all safe! Much of the risk is actually from the metals that

are in the body rather than the chelation agents.

> Should this be done even if

> no heavy leads show up in her system?

well, I think the problem is more along the lines that it is

hard to be sure that there are not metals using testing.

If I were SURE someone did not have heavy metals I would see

no reason to use chelation.

> How long does this chelatin

You give the pills orally (can be mixed into food etc)---

the method I like (and many on this list use) is to give the

chelation agent(s) for 3 days, then stop for a few days,

then start again, etc. Continue this for months.

But you should see improvements as you go.

no it is not safe IMO. Please read the book about vaccinations

that I cited above. All states have exemptions, vaccines are

not required.

keep reading, and ask more questions if you want.

good wishes,
