- if the reason playing flute hurts is because you have to

lift your arms - an easy, less painful instrument (and fairly

inexpensive, too) is the irish whistle (otherwise known as the penney

whistle or tin whistle). Easy easy to play since you know how to

play flute. It's not as versitile as a flute - but hey - it's better

than nothing.
