Can be either. > He doesn't use pajamas, so he's not getting antimony there, but he does sleep on regular sheets and a comforter. Does he use a regular mattress? Guest guest
From my experience, antimony did not go down until I bought organic mattresses (for us, too because he comes to sleep with us sometiimes) and removed all carpet from the house (put laminate instead). It seemed to me that my son did not excrete mercury because ALA was working on antimony. When finally antimony went down in the hair test, mercury went up. You can order organic mattress from abundantearth.com , lifekind.com and other web sites. Sometimes it requires doctor's prescription, which should not be so hard to get from any DAN! doctor, naturopath or even cooperating pediatrician. Margaret > My 8 year old son just got back the results of his third hair test. The previous test was close to two years ago. About a year ago, my son started taking 400 mgs of SAMe a day, in hopes of improving his attention issues some. Also, a little over 6 months ago, he started Kirkman's TMG + Folinic Acid + B12 capsules. He takes about ten of those a day, in addition to the SAME. (For a while, he took about twenty of them a day.) Therefore, it was quite a surprise to me when I got the latest hair results back to discover that not only has my son's antimony not gone down over the past two years, it's gone UP! > > On his first hair test, dated Nov 2001, his antimony registered .072 (reference range of <.066) and barely dipped into the yellow. On his second hair test, dated Oct 2002, his antimony had increased to .1. Now, on this last hair test, dated July 2004, his antimony registered .19, and is almost touching the red line. > > He no longer meets the counting rules for mercury, and didn't met them on his second hair test either (but did on his first.) In addition to high antimony, he has high aluminum, high nickel, high silver, and high tin. His arsenic has gone down to the green now, although it's still close to the yellow. (It used to be his highest metal, according to his first hair test, until we chelated with DMSA and ALA.) > > Does this increase of antimony in the hair likely indicate that more antimony is leaving his body, as a result of the SAMe and TMG, or does it indicate that his body burden of antimony is increasing? > > He doesn't use pajamas, so he's not getting antimony there, but he does sleep on regular sheets and a comforter. Are there special kinds of pure cotton, chemical free bedding available, and if so where? Or is it best to just use that washing soda that was mentioned on this list? I've never seen it at the store, but will look again. > > > Thanks for any suggestions or information anyone has! > > Janiece > >
Guest guest
It is really hard to say. For practical purposes labs can't break down reference ranges by each year of age, etc., but in under 8 chidlren some toxics, antimony (Sb) being one seems to have a minimum at about 2 and rise until age 8 or 10 on it's own. So it isn't clear what this means. Also if mineral transport WAS deranged and isn't now you can't really compare the tests. I would certainly go to the trouble to get rid of all possible sources of exposure. Andy . . . . > My 8 year old son just got back the results of his third hair test.
