Guest guest
Jo, OUCH! I'm so sorry to hear more bad news! Do they have to do surgery on it or just keep it immobilized? You poor dear! Guest guest
Thank you for your kind thoughts adn wishes. Yes, I reckon Sods law is the equivilant of 's Law - it muts be a bit of a local colloquialism for where I live! hee-hee At present I'm just immobilsed and trying to keep as muc weight off it as possible, but have to go back if things change or I'm concerned at all. I hope I can get away without needing any surgical intervention, I guess I'll just have to be a good girl and stick to shuffling around the house! Thank again for letting me vent and for your lovely thoughts - you guys never fail to bring me rainbows through my clouds :-) Love and hugs always....Jo xxx

Guest guest
Jo, you need to try to be put into a fibreglass walking cast. This is what they put me in when I had that log fall on me and tear everything in my foot I spent about 6 weeks in the cast and then 3-4 months in a cam walker. You really NEED to get a wheelchair at least for the short term Jo. Is there ANYWHERE near you where you can hire, beg, borrow a power chair to cover you for the 8+ week recovery period of this recent ankle injury??? This way you can have some independance and still get about without resorting to bum scooting which could injure your upper body. Please Jo look into it. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, the doctors wanted to put me in a fibreglass cast but my knees and hip are so unstable that even that would have caused too much strain on the joints when I turn in bed. As it is I just can't stand up at the moment without my knees subluxing or my ankle screaming :-( I am going to look at getting a wheelchair, this latest fall has really been a wake up call I think and made me realise I can't stubbornly ignoe the fact my legs dont work anywhere. I have laready dislcated many other joints and broken my elbow, collar bone and ankle directly from falls where my legs have just collapsed on me. There no telling what the dmage will be next time and with my current bleeding issue's I simply can;t take the risk any more. The time has come to take the scary but safer option. Getting me sorted out with wheels will probably become one on the priorities when I stay down in Leeds with Prof Bird. But for now I'm stuck bum shuffling and whizzing around in my office chair! Thanks again for your thoughts and advice Darl, hope you are doing okay adn I'll be in touch soon. Love and hugs....Jo xxx
