I actually took in my 4 year old nephew permanently for one of my sisters and yesterday I asked her to pick up my dh and bring him to the doctors (he just had open heart and can't drive yet) so I didn't have to drag the whole troop with me and she was very perturbed, but managed to do it, just showed up on her time...30 minutes late! Just my opinion, of course, but I do not think you're being unreasonable at all. It's so frustrating when you're the type of person who just does and does for everyone else and doesn't get anything in return. And I know that's not the reason you do things. You do things for others because you want to and that's who you are. But being taken advantage of and taken for granted really stinks. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Hugs... Guest guest
I tell ya, I'd refuse to do anything for her but if I did, I'd never see my nephew and she'd just put my mom out more than she already does. Everything is always about her. She uses me, mom AND her ex inlaws. Last week, I offered to take her son one night because my mom was supposed to watch him, but she had JUST had her chemo that day and was tired so I approached sis with the proposal. Her response was...mom will be ok. GRRRRRRRRR > I hear ya ! I have 5 sisters and all of them expect me to be there at a > moment's notice and not a one of them can ever return the favor! Guest guest
I'd be pissed! The only time I have refused to take my brothers kids is when they were ill..don't want to make mine sick! When he was going through his divorce, I had his over night about 4 nights a week and fed and took them to school in the a.m. for several months. I think you should confront her on this.
