Guest guest
, Don't you love the system? NOT. I am going through something similar with my teenager, with county mental health, the school district, etc. No wonder some kids go postal, it just isn't set up to help THEM, the powers that be are too busy trying to hang onto their jobs in a declining public service economy. About the sinus problems, my doc has me use saline rinses in my sinuses every day in the shower. It really helped remove dust and pollen that had gotten in and caused trouble. Also, the Afrin nasal spray is good, and you can ask your doc for a preventive nose spray like Vancanase, Flonase or one of those that helps the sinuses repel foreign substances like pollen and dust. I have found them to be very helpful in preventing sinus headaches. Another answer is to wear a surgical mask whenever you are in a dusty situation. With Lupus, we have sudden and inexplicable sensitivies to things that may never have bothered us in the past. Hope your headache is better soon. Guest guest
, I used to get sinus infection during my pregnancies at times when I couldn't take antibiotics. I can tell you the following definitely helped: - Afrin 12 hour Sinus Spray (even my doctors allowed me to use it), just don't use it more than twice daily for 3 days in a row. - boil water in a pot and breath in the steam for a few minutes. Repeat as often as possible, even every 15 or 20 minutes. Sinuses need moisture. - drink plenty of water. Good luck, hope the headache goes away. Happy Birthday Mojo headache remedies? Good morning all, Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of a sinus headache? We moved some things out of storage yesterday & were in a LOT of dust. I know that's what caused this. I've been up all night, I've tried Tylenol, Ibuprophin, & even Loritab. Nothing has helped. Today is my 45th birthday & this IS NOT how I want to spend the day! I've been having headaches almost constantly for the last few months anyway. They weren't sinus headaches, tho. They were more like migraines. I'm pretty sure this is from all that dust that was in that old storage building because it started right after we got out of there & just kept getting worse all evening. Any suggestions, anyone? Hope everyone has a good day. ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here "The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!" Guest guest
Thanks Mojo, I'm willing to try just about anything at this point!Especially after spending the last 30 minutes on the phone with our "wonderful" Voc. Rehab Center explaining to me, yet again, how they don't have the funding for my son, who qualifies, to be able to get any help. Isn't the system wonderful?! NOT! Guest guest
Yeah, I'm just "crazy" about the system here! Josh will be 20 in August. He was in Resource classes (special ed) his whole school career. He is dyslexic, has problems with auditory & visual short term memory, & is ADD. Which all together has caused many behavioral headaches! He can't fill out a job application, which means most places won't hire him because you have to fill them out there in the office. He can't make change, so when he does have a job, he stays broke. People take advantage of him because he would give you the shirt off his back. Yet, let me say the wrong thing & he is ballistic! His dr. once told me that that was because he felt closest to me. Anyway, when he graduated nearly 2 yrs. ago, he wanted to go to the technical school. Applied for voc-rehab, & immediately qualified. Then we get told, "sorry, we don't have funds for him", "he should apply for federal aid to pay for school". Yeah, he could get the aid, but that won't help him with the special help he needs. He needs the resources that voc-rehab offers. Oh well, he does have a job now. His uncle got him on at Malibu Boats. Clay talked them into hiring him without him having to fill out all the paper work in the office. So far he's doing well, but it's only been a few weeks & his attention span isn't great. We'll see. I did remember that I had some Nasacort AQ that the dr. had given me before. It hasn't seemed to help much yet, but it may take some time. If it doesn't help by morning I'll call her office. Jace took me to lunch at our favorite Mexican place. That was nice even with the headache. I was hoping the kids would come by, but haven't seen them yet. Thanks for answering Hugs back at ya, -- Re: headache remedies? , Don't you love the system? NOT.
