Guest guest
In recently uncovered data from the CDC sponsored study on thimerosal and autism (from 1999), children listed on the Vaccine Safety Datalink exposed to specific levels of thimerosal in their infant vaccinations were up to 11 times more likely to be diagnosed with autism. This result was deemed statistically significant using a 95% confidence interval test. The CDC then took steps to dilute causation data by rather blatant statistical olympics including unnecessary stratifications of cohort sets. Publications by Dr. Mark Geier and Geier using the VAERS database support the CDC's earliest finds. This simply is not true. Geier and Geier's work concluded the following: http://www.chicagoparent.com/columns11.htm Geier and Geier analyzed government vaccine data and found that a child receiving injectable mercury during vaccinations is 26 times more likely to become autistic than a child who receives mercury-free shots. They also note that the symptoms of mercury poisoning are the same as the symptoms of autism. http://www.curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=362 & i=2208 WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Institute of Medicine will hold a one-day meeting to review important new research on the link between thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative in vaccines, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. One of the larger studies under review comes from the CDC's own Vaccine Safety Datalink. Under independent investigation, CDC's data concludes children are 27-times more likely to develop autism after exposure to three thimerosal-containing vaccines (TCVs), than those who receive thimerosal-free versions. Guest guest
Thanks for the clarification. All I meant to say is that the Geiers's work supported a causal link between thimerosal exposure and autism incidence, as did the earliest work by the CDC (based on an infantile autism or ICD-9 diagnosis). I had a chance to have a 45 minute long phone conversation with Dr. Morrow this afternoon. He finds the information that I sent to him indeed intriguing. His original point was that Aventis could essentially hold the public health community hostage by threatening to decrease supplies of flu vaccine. My point was that by not enacting the ban on thimerosal, you were indeed showing that large pharma could do whatever they wanted with little or no consequences. When I asked for a broader solution to the dilemna of the " bullying of the U.S. public by the pharmaceutical industry, " Dr. Morrow had not real solution. He does not believe that the CDC and the IOM would conspire to keep the truth out of the hands of the public but did concede that children like my son could indeed sustain an injury from thimerosal. Again, children of this genotype are held as collateral damage in the public health system's misplaced " War on Infectious Disease. " - I appreciate the benefit of the doubt. It's hard for me to understand how other folks have the time to strain through and criticize minutia in posts on this board. I'd personally rather reserve any additional time I have to be with my son. ---- Original message ---- >Date: Fri, 06 Aug 2004 17:10:29 -0600 >From: Binstock <binstock@...> >Subject: Re: [ ] Dr. Morrow Fights Ban on Thimerosal, a Proven Neurotoxin > > >, > >In a hurried post, had written " Publications by Dr. Mark Geier and > Geier using the VAERS database support the CDC's earliest finds. Guest guest
B, Thnx for the phone-chat insights. Collateral damage is a phrase the AAP director used during phone-chat with Albert Enayati. Perhaps that's how many big-wigs think about vaccine damage -- collateral damage and let it not be publicized. Thus the autism epidemic is merely collateral damage and, to paraphrase team-player London, there is no epidemic. Corruption as rancid as the medieval church. Guest guest
It's incredulous that someone taking the forceful approach would choose a garden hose as a weapon before entering the howling hurricane such as we have here. I suppose the proverb is true. There are days to fish, and days to dry our nets. We owe it to our children to stand fast, be patient, and be ready to give a seasoned, accurate answer. I hear that they are wishing we all would just drop dead. Guest guest
JUST EXACTLY WHAT ACTION NEEDS TO BE DONE SO THAT THE SENATE CAN HOLD HEARINGS ON THE ACTIONS OF THE CDC AND IOM??????????? This change from protecting the public to protecting the Drug companies must stop! BOTH DEM'S AND REPUB'S BETTER ADDRESS THIS. - Aly > > Thanks for the clarification. Guest guest
It's hard for me to understand how other folks have the time to strain through and criticize minutia in posts on this board. I'd personally rather reserve any additional time I have to be with my son Sometimes there are important details, however minute, hiding there in the minutiae of just about everything written. My concern was there's a great big whopper of a gap between what you desired to infer in the Morrow e-mail that you took the time to copy and paste and send to this group and what was actually discovered by the Geiers in their visit to Atlanta. I did not strain myself at all with your post. In fact the discrepancy just popped right out at me in a matter of two or three seconds. When the Geiers compared that in children the risk of autism after just three thimerosal-laced shots is greater than the risk of smoking and cancer it somehow made a different impact on me than it did on you and it left an indelible print that I can not erase from my mind. " It's a matter of context. I've had the pleasure of hangin' with Dr. Mark Geier and Geier on each of their 3 trips to Minnesota over the past year. It's my understanding that they have limited use of the " 27 times more likely " autism/Thimerosal statistic they found at the Vaccine Safety Datalink because they were not allowed to carry any paperwork out of the VSD. VAERS information is available to the public, but VSD information is under lock and key. The Geiers were the only non-CDC personnel allowed to view the data, but once they announced what they'd found, they were banned. It seems reasonable to assume that the Geiers' finding, though anecdotal, has been made available to the Special Masters supervising the Federal Autism Omnibus Proceedings. But it cannot carry the legal weight of a court-ordered, court-supervised analysis. Hokkanen Minneapolis
Guest guest
Increasingly, I accept as simple fact that the CDC and IOM are protecting the right of pharmaceutical companies to make products that injure " subtly " so that additional medical products can be sold! nhokkanen wrote: > > > >> " It's incredulous that someone taking the forceful approach would >> >> >choose a garden hose as a weapon before entering the howling hurricane >such as we have here.
