Everyone sits in a circle and holds the gift they brought for exchange. Someone reads the story and the gifts are passed either to the right or the left as the words are read. Whichever gift you end up with is the gift you keep.

For Christmas Gift Exchange with the Family

Christmas was almost here, and Mother RIGHT was finishing the Christmas baking. Father RIGHT, Sue RIGHT, and RIGHT returned from their last minute Christmas errands.

"There's not much LEFT to be done," said Father RIGHT as he came into kitchen.

"Did you leave the basket of food at church?" asked Mother RIGHT.

"LEFT it RIGHT where you told me to," said Father RIGHT.

"I'm glad my shopping is done," said RIGHT. "I don't have any money LEFT."

The hall telephone rang, and RIGHT, LEFT to answer it. She rushed back and told the family, "Aunt Tilly RIGHT, LEFT a package for us RIGHT on Grandma RIGHT's porch. I'll go over there RIGHT now and get it," she said as she LEFT in a rush.

Father RIGHT, LEFT the kitchen and brought in the Christmas tree.

By the time RIGHT returned, Mother RIGHT, Father RIGHT, and RIGHT had begun trimming the tree. The entire RIGHT family sang carols as they finished the decorating. Then they LEFT all the presents arranged under the tree and went to bed, hoping they had selected the RIGHT gifts for their family.

Now I hope you have the RIGHT present for yourself, because that's all that's LEFT of our story.except to wish you a Merry Christmas.Isn't that RIGHT?

CHRISTMAS WITH THE WRIGHT FAMILY

Mrs. WRIGHT eyed her Christmas list carefully and said to her husband, Mr. WRIGHT, "there won't be anything LEFT of our budget after Christmas." Mrs. WRIGHT gave a large sigh. Mr. WRIGHT looked up from his paper. "That's all RIGHT, my dear, there isn't anything LEFT of it

anyway at the end of the month. I'll be happy if it just sees the WRIGHT family through the holidays." As Mr. WRIGHT turned to his paper, he said." Have you the RIGHT gift for Aunt Hattie WRIGHT this Christmas? She's been pretty lonely since her daughter married and LEFT

home. Uncle Harry WRIGHT LEFT her a lot of money, but she doesn't know how to enjoy it." Eddie WRIGHT was studying in the corner just LEFT of the fireplace. "I wish that Aunt Hattie WRIGHT would ask me the RIGHT way to spend it," he said. Eugenia WRIGHT sniffed "She wouldn't have much money LEFT if she did. Your allowance is gone almost before you

get it." And I suppose that you have all of yours LEFT, Miss Miser," returned Eddie WRIGHT. "I don't have all of it LEFT, but I do have enough LEFT to buy presents with, all RIGHT, without having to borrow from mother," she snapped. Eddie WRIGHT looked downcast. "You're

RIGHT, Christmas is mighty near, only two more shopping days LEFT."

"Have you a present for your friend, Rose?" asked Mrs. WRIGHT. "She gave you a nice tie last year, remember?" Edie WRIGHT groaned, "that's RIGHT, gosh! A fellow can't do RIGHT by his family and a girl too and have anything LEFT on two dollars a week." Just then the doorbell rang. Eugenia WRIGHT ran to answer it and it was the postman who LEFT a special delivery letter for the WRIGHT family. She took it to father WRIGHT and he opened it. Inside were a letter and four RIGHT new ten-dollar bills. Mrs. WRIGHT whistled. "It's from Aunt Hattie

WRIGHT. She LEFT town and has gone to her daughters' for Christmas. She wished us who are LEFT here to spend this money which she LEFT, on each other. "Say, she's all RIGHT," Eddie WRIGHT shouted. "Bless her heart," said mother WRIGHT. "It has made her RIGHT happy to give it to us before she LEFT." declared father WRIGHT. "So I guess it's a bit all

RIGHT with all of us LEFT here." And now you are LEFT here to open the gift that you have RIGHT in your RIGHT and LEFT hands.

Family Story For Present Exchange

Here is the story we have used for the present exchange. You sit everyone in a circle (or a few circles if you are in a large group) and pass the presents whenever a direction is given. It's really a lot of fun and causes great confusion!

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Tommy WRIGHT. He lived with

his mother, Mrs. WRIGHT and his father Dr. WRIGHT and his sister Sara WRIGHT.

He had four shiny quarters LEFT from some birthday money that Grandma WRIGHT had sent him besides the $8.12 LEFT in his piggy bank. Now it was time to buy the RIGHT present for each member of the WRIGHT family. So one morning he hopped RIGHT out of bed, RIGHT into his slippers that were RIGHT next to his bed and quietly LEFT home. He went carefully ACROSS the street to the big store on the LEFT side of Main Street. The store was decorated with lights and Christmas ornaments.

Tommy WRIGHT thought and thought about Christmas presents and he looked at

all the things for sale. "Let's see," said Tommy. I know, I'll get Mother WRIGHT some warm gloves. Here is the RIGHT one but where is the LEFT one?

Oh! Here it is, RIGHT under the RIGHT one. I sure hope they are the RIGHT color. They cost $3.06 so I have $6.06 LEFT to spend. Not for Daddy WRIGHT. Would he like a truck or maybe a ball or a LEFT handed catcher's mitt? I know, I'll get him a football so we can play catch RIGHT in your own back yard when he comes home from work. Let's see, I had $6.06 LEFT and the football is $5.06 so now I have $1.00 LEFT for Sara's present. Here is what she wants. A pretty new purse and I think I have just enough money LEFT to buy it. Tommy WRIGHT clutched his presents happily and went running RIGHT up to the lady at the counter and gave her all the money his RIGHT pocket.

"Is that RIGHT?", he asked as he gave her his money. "It will be $1.05 with tax," she said, "Oh no," said Tommy WRIGHT. "I forgot about tax." Tommy WRIGHT started crying. Tears streaked RIGHT and LEFT down his little face. RIGHT then the door bursts open and in cam Santa Claus who had LEFT the North Pole and had come RIGHT to Tommy 's town to take orders from children for Christmas. "Ho, Ho, Ho," said Santa. We can't have Santa's helpers sad like this. Let's see now, I bet I have five pennies RIGHT here in my LEFT pocket. Santa Claus checked his LEFT pocket and found nothing. "Oh, no," said Santa. I must have put them into my RIGHT pocket instead of my LEFT. Here they are RIGHT here in my RIGHT pocket, Tommy.Ho! Ho! Ho! and a Merry Christmas to all the WRIGHT's from Santa Claus and his helpers.

Tommy WRIGHT LEFT the story, ran back ACROSS the street and all the way

home to tell his sister Sara WRIGHT that he had seen and talked to Santa. He

was so happy that he wrapped his presents RIGHT away and LEFT them under the

Christmas tree. Mr. and Mrs. WRIGHT and Sara WRIGHT were thrilled with their presents. Tommy WRIGHT felt really happy even though he had no money LEFT. Christmas morning for the WRIGHT family was joyful and Christmas LEFT nothing to want.

I hope your Christmas will be wonderful and full of the Love we all feel for one another. God Bless you and yours. Merry Christmas. (And sometimes we add after a pause) Santa said as he LEFT
