Pots/Autonomic Dysfunction/Anesthesia

Hi,

I have HEDS with some classical, and marfan overlap. One of my main

problems is my autonomic dysfunction, (I've gone into shock while having my

blood drawn, I've fainted numerous times, even once while sitting).

I am now being forced into a colonoscopy, which I'm not even sure is

necessary. I am afraid, because I've heard about the problems of using

anesthesia when you have POTS. The doctors are totally ignoring my EDS &

POTS problems (they know absolutely nothing about either, and have

absolutely no desire to learn).

The problem is: I can't find really anything of value in " professional "

medical literature to back me up on my concerns. I would be happy if they

allowed me to do the colonoscopy without anesthesia (I'm that concerned

about them using it).

If anybody can direct me to some actual medical articles on the use of

anesthesia with Pots/Autonomic Dysfunction (already seen Potsplace

articles)--I would be thrilled.

Thanks Much,

Sandy
