Guest guest
I had a dentist appt. on Wednesday and found it to be the best hour I could have spent. I know it is important to inform even the dentist of medicine changes for the chart. I was diagnosed with IGAN since my last visit and therefore needed to tell my dentist and have my chart updated. My dentist had never heard of IGAN and spent about 10 minutes of our appt. pulling up medical info on doctor's sites. He was able to offer suggestions that my Neph. has not mentioned. He found studies on Benfotiamine, a vitamin B-1 supplement that has shown promise in Germany and Japan. Does anyone know anything else about this??? Just curious. Anyway, my dentist dismissed the hygenist and spent a full hour with me cleaning my teeth and talking with me. He told me that he was lucky to have me as a patient because I taught him something new. He said he would be researching IGAN and felt that next time he would know when he has another IGAN patient. I just wanted to remind everyone that sometimes great things come from the setbacks in life! Mindy
