Guest guest
I've never heard that one before, I must admit. But I don't see why you wouldn't be able to donate, as so many people out there only have the one kidney, & they do perfectly fine with just the one. > > my brother was diagnosed with IgA 5 years ago. he has already had one > transplant and now he needs another one. i was wondering if anyone > had information on becoming a donor. i was told i couldn't be tested > because i was of child-bearing age. but to me that sounds rediculous > and it should be my choice. if anyone has inofrmation, i would > greatly appreciate it. Guest guest
i thought it was strange too. they said that if i might not be able to ever get pregnant, because my blood pressure would be high from having just one kidney. but i'd rather risk not ahving children and save my brother's life I've never heard that one before, I must admit. Guest guest
Lindsey, I donated a kidney to my son in 2001, and my blood pressure stays fairly low, usually around 110/80. My one remaining kidney works just fine.
