Good News! EDS Paper published

Hi.. I just wanted to let you guys know that I wrote a medical paper on EDS

and Radiology. I submitted it to the Missouri Society of Radiologists and won

first place. This gets the paper published and more health care professionals

educated on EDS.

At the end of the paper I included pictures of myself my sister, Kristi

Devocelle and her son Dakota doing EDS " tricks " to display the severity of the

disorder.

Now I will submit the paper to more health care magazines for publishment.

I am also going to attempt to do seminars at Jewish Hospital in St.

Louis to the medical students.

I would be very interested in reading your paper.

My best friend's husband is head of radiology at Torrance Memorial Hospital in

Torrance, Ca, and he has asked me about EDS.

Is this a paper he will see?

We had quite a long talk last summer about hypermobility and pain, as he tried

to find some sort of exercise I could do, and he thought I should do yoga, cause

I'm so flexible and I would be great at it. I had to explain to him that I'm

too stretched, and yoga would probably cause me more pain - at least that's what

I've experienced in the past.

Anyway, he seemed quite interested in my pain problem, and wondering how I could

feel better. I didn't know I had HEDS then - only knew I had hypermobility

syndrome, and since then I've asked him about EDS. He only knows a little about

VEDS, not the hypermobile type. He did recognize how much pain I was in every

day, cause I stayed with them for a week. He and his wife (my best friend)

tried everything to make me feel better, from hot tub soaks to medication.

He seemed quite interested in my problems, and still asks how I'm doing. I

think it bothers him that he can't fix me. It's a doctor thing, I guess.

Anyway, It would be great if he can get a copy of your paper. Maybe it's a

publication he sees regularly. What is the name of the publication? I will ask

him if he gets it. If he doesn't, If I can get a copy, I can send it to him.

Good for you! Just wondering - do you have a medical background? Or, can

anyone write a medical paper?

I wish I could do something like that.

Is there any way I can get a copy of this article? The radiology group I go

to for all my MRIs and CTs.......one of the owners granddaughters has

EDS.....so being he is a radiologist and a grandpa of an EDSer....he may really

be

interested in this article.
