If you live where it gets cold, red meat SHOULD be regular part of your diet -- it provides an energy base for enduring cold that vegetables/grains alone can't. (This is according to macrobiotics, actually -- we were macro for a while, but it didn't work for us. eventually went back to fish occasionally, and I added dairy/eggs back.)
