Hi Lana,

Is he taking Provigil or something else? I'll be glad when I can talk face to

face with this doctor again. If I eat sugar, the Provigil can barely cut it.

As far as my times, go, the doctor said my average time was 2 minutes. I

guess that means some were less!! In this book that I am rereadng, I just this

second remembered it talking about how people who have problems like this

especially, can fall asleep of nanoseconds and don't even know that they have

done

it!! BUT, it is long enough to wreck a car. That is one thing that has been a

real problem for me.

Lana, is your husband's all under control? I have always joked about how my

Mike could sleep any where, anytime... a skill learned in the army! Now it's me

who is having such a problem. I feel like I should be able to overcome it.

Ok.. I'm starting to fade here... better get going!

When my husband had the test, he went into a rem sleep each and every

time within 2-3 minutes. They diagnosed him w/narcolepsy.

Hi,

Well, about the sugar. I have hypoglycemia. If I need a quick sugar boost, and

can't eat right away, and don't have any healthy snack with me, I have a candy

bar. That gets the low sugar attack under control, but then I get very sleepy.

I don't know how long it took me to fall asleep. But, I had to do 20 minute

naps every 2 hours, and I fell right asleep, as far as I could tell. After each

nap, they had me fill out a quesionaire - how long do you think it took you to

fall asleep? How long do you think you slept? Did you dream? and so on.

The techs wouldn't tell me anything. I will find that all out this afternoon.

I'll post and let you know what the dr says.

, they had him on that at first, but then when we went to Mayo,

and it was found that he also had ADHD, and still having lots of

sleep episodes and wierd nightmares, they decided to try Ritilin.

He's now on a med that is Ritilin in slow release form. I can't

remember the name of it right off, but I'll look when I get home

tonight. By the way, I'm sending you an email offlist as well. Just

wanted you to look for it after you have a snooze, OK?

That has to be so frustrating, ! It was one of the worst parts of

Provogil for him. Perhaps you ought to call your doctor and report to him

what's happening. Mike has a list, a support list site where they have

talked about others who had this with Provogil too. Let me know how it

goes, OK?

I had those wierd dreamlike things before the Provigil. Did Mike think that

Provigil caused them? What side effects did he have from it? I think it is what

is making my mouth dry.

Something is causing me to gain weight like crazy and it is awful!! Sniff

sniff. I think it is the Lotronex!

I see the sleep doc on Tuesday.

Yes, , they did think the Provigil caused the weird dreams. Mike

didn't have the dry mouth, but that is a side effect of it. I'll be anxious

to hear what he says, ! Please let me know.
