Guest guest
As you can probably guess by the header my shoulder is still/again causing me troubles (still the Right one). Yesterday morning when I woke up (or was woken up) I knew my shoulder was out. I tried to relocate it a little gently myself and no luck as I was unable to drive over to my Osteo (it was to far with me in the condition I was in) I went to the ER (I was seen almost straight away) and it was confirmed that it was out anteriorly (and a little superior as well), the tried to relocate it 1st -drugless <eek> OUCH... by lying me over the edge of the bed and letting my arm hang etc, but after only a couple of minutes (well instantly really but they made me stay there a few minutes) I was in AGONY and shaking etc and my arm etc was starting to spasm, so they rolled my onto my back and gave me a cannula and then fentynal and medaz and relocated it, BUT by the time i got to x-ray it was OUT AGAIN and this time they used fentynal and propofol a short acting anaesthetic (like a mini general) and knocked me our COMPLETELY and relocated it and bound me up etc and then x- rayed it again and it had stayed put this time. I got to the ER at about 12 noon at got home at about 6:30pm BUT by 7:30pm I was back at the ER (by non-urgent ambulance) as it had AGAIN slipped out but this time by the time they got around to me (at about 11pm+) –with NO pain relief except the gas/sucking on thing the ambo's gave me. It had relocated itself, but I had to stick around and have a shower etc as they applied a " special " sling (it is odd and made entirely of tubular bandage with my arm inside but it does immobilise) that I am NOT allowed to take off AT all for 3 weeks and not supposed to for 6 weeks (but they said as long as I put another sling on and DO NOT move my arm at all I can have a quick shower and then have this sling put back on – CAREFULLY (they wrote instructions on it to make sure I get it right, they also made me a spare one and gave me a couple of slings to shower in, when I am allowed). So I got home at 1:30am this morning. And feel like I have been hit by a truck (and a BIG one) they also said on the 3rd x-ray they could see bruising already. So I wont be able to type much and I apologise to anyone I miss during this time. Sharon HEDS Canberra Australia
