Guest guest
Thanks - Do believe that is just what I needed...... Will write it down- he is coming here for an appointment on April 1 to help me prepare for the hearing. I believe the reason for a difference in lawyers is that the one I had , I located on the net and the firm was based in L.A. I wondered if he was going to fly here to Michigan or what to be at the hearing. I am fine with the change- this man seems very nice and told me not to be nervous etc....... he has comforted me some. But he stated that things have changed and I do know from taking legal assisting that the laws change so frequently that it is indeed hard to keep up with them- one day something is legal while the next day it is entirely the opposite. The reason he said that the information about my sons passing may not help really is due to the fact that he passed undiagnosed- yet his autopsy reveals aneurysms which are hard to deny that it isnt related to what I have. He basically said that we can have the info on hand but that the Judge is not going to go by what EDS consists of but what EDS does to TJ herself........ what EDS has created limitations on for me in my life........ Definitely there would be a degree of depression and I do believe that the doctor had that written on his diagnosis so am not worried there...... From the sounds of it, any material I bring to back up EDS would do me no good- only information on myself from doctor/hospital stays and such are needed. Thanks for the well wishes. I have given up worrying about this. If it goes through it goes through - if it does not then it does not. I can sit and stew and worry and all it is going to do is make me miserable. Whatever happens happens and life will go on either way so I prefer to live it daily without the worrying and just take it one day at a time and deal with whatever comes at me at the time. Thanksfor the response and the SSA law. Hugs to you- TJ TJ, Very important, under SSA law for definitions for permanent qualifications for benefits, there is law 14.06, undifferentiated connective tissue disorders, which EDS meets all the qualifications for. Guest guest
Thanks Sue- You know too- I just remembered- he stated that even though it may be listed there- that it doesnt guarantee that it will help.... He said most of those are listed there but usually do not make anything really pass through as they want to know specifics of what the illness does to the person - not what the listed illness can cause. Guest guest
Thanks Lana- Well- in some ways- it does make it difficult....... I mean- no backup material allowed from web or egroups or history in my life to explain EDS allowed....... I do find that quite odd , but they only need what its doing to me so I guess what EDS may in the future add to what its doing to me doesn't count until it does it to me...... eh?
