Most of these new meds interacted with other meds I was taking for other things, which is why I'm still taking insulin. But that doesn't mean they won't work for you. If you can deal with having fibro, you can deal with diabetes. Sounds like there are a lot of people on this list who are willing to help and provide support, including myself. Hang in there. >> I don't have to take insulin. I take a pill. The funny thing is that since I have been taking the pill, I have had less pain from the fibro. It doesn't make sense. I am going to discuss it with my doctor when I am in later this month. Anyhow I am the person newly diagnosed with diabetes. My husband has it too so that is a help. Guest guest Posted December 31, 2001 Report Share Posted December 31, 2001 Hi, Irene, Thanks for telling me who you are. I saw so many names, I couldn't keep up. I have found that my pain is sometimes better when my blood sugar is around 100 or below, and worse if it goes over 300. So, it may not be the pill but lowering your blood sugar that helped your pain. I sure hope so. There was a time when I argued with doctors about taking pain meds, but now anything that will help this pain is welcome in my book. Best of luck to you and thank you to everyone.
