Guest guest
Did I just tell you yesterday that it NEVER STOPS?!?!?! Hu? Did I? At about midnight last night, just couldn't stand the ear pain anymore. She was in AGONY! And I'm not kidding. So, I took her to the hospital. There was NO WAY I was gonna sit up with her all night while she cried in pain. I didn't know what it was, but I've had an ear infection - about 13 years ago, and it was excruciating! She has an ear infection. And, they can't see her eardrum, cause of all the wax. She's always had that wax problem. Yesterday, I stoped and got some of that ear wax stuff, and before I knew about it, had used it, and used that bulb thing to try to suction stuff out. You aren't suppose to do it that way. You are suppose to wash the ear out with water. So, I thought she must have done some damage from the suction. They said her eardrum probably isn't ruptured, cause then the pain would stop. They want her to see an ear dr if it doesn't get better after a day of antibiotics. They said she may have increased the pain because of pressure when she suctioned it. UURRGGHH! It better get better, cause I can't stand the thought of ANOTHER dr! One thing they asked me - They said " What level of EDS does she have? " What does this mean? Since she's got the hypermobile type, is she level 3? Bonnie - you may be right about straining her muscles from jaw problems. But, she has perfect teeth (at least one thing is ok) and it's never been brought up that anything is wrong with her jaw. I'm wondering if when she throws out her back, if she's pulling those neck/jaw/face muscles. She didn't say anything about her ear hurting that morning. When she threw her back out, she said her eyes hurt (they always do when she throws her back out) and her ear. Then, the ear pain got worse and worse. Anyway, muscle strains can't cause an ear infection. It's really wierd, cause she hasn't had a cold or anything. I'm thinking that maybe she's pushing stuff in deep into her ear, cause she uses Q-tips every day. I'm always telling her not to put them in her ear, but she's got OCD, and cleanliness is a huge issue. She says " How am I gonna get my ears clean if I don't? " Anyway - could you get an infection by using Q-tips? Could she be pushing dirt and crud into her ear, until it gets infected? I'm so tired. I got 3 1/2 hours sleep last night. When I went through the drive thru window at the pharmacy at 2:00am, I didn't realize they gave her huge capsules of amoxicillan. So, I had to go back at 6:00 this morning to change it to chewables, cause she can't swallow anything bigger than a pin head. Then I had to stop at Safeway to get 's lunch. I haven't had a shower in 24 hours. I thought I must have stunk up Safeway. I keep getting sweaty hot flashes all day and night. I think I'm starting " the change " on top of everything else. And, I'm only 41. The hospital gave a shot of Toradahl and Vistul (sp?). She's got so much medication put into her so often, it makes me sick! It's so hard to imagine that she's only 15, and the amount of meds she's had is way more than a lot of people ever get in a lifetime! They also gave her percocet until the pain goes away. The toradahl worked pretty good. That's a good drug to use, but only every once in a while. It's not a narcotic, but you can't use it very often cause it can damage the liver. She's had it twice now. So, now I have to go get my flat tire fixed, go grocery shopping (we are about foodless!), take to the Gyn. I wish I could hire one of our local Russian ladies who work so hard and clean houses and run errands for people. I don't think my husband would go for that. He's a penny pincher! I suppose that's a good thing in the long run, though. Ok, now I feel better for writing this all down. I can't tell you how good this is for me. It's therapy. I don't know if anyone is actually reading it, but I don't care. At least I got it out. Hugs, and thanks, if you read all this, for enduring my whining!
