Guest guest
, In a word YES. 23 yrs ago when I had chemotherapy, I had a wonderful and wise oncologist. my parents asked about pot for helping with chemo. He said on the record, no...it's illegal. Off the record, get some for her. I was at that time my present height <5'10> and I weighed about 95-100 from being sick and vomiting for 5 days straight from chemo. It cut down the nausea and vomiting from 5 to 2 days. This is just based on my personal experience and THC pills I hear help too. It was pretty funny smoking a joint at 16 with my parents sitting there and it is true, food cravings helped me put on a bit of weight. Guest guest
Absolutely. It has been prooven to help many medical conditions, and the side effects are no worse than any of the other legal meds. a ----- Original Message ----- From: <Rysu19@...> < egroups> Sent: Sunday, April 30, 2000 2:33 AM Subject: [ ] Marijuana for Medical use > Do you think Marijuana should be legalized for medical use? > ~ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Accurate impartial advice on everything from laptops to table saws. > 1/3020/4/_/478567/_/957076428/ > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > URL to change your membership options: /group/ > RA-support website: http://www.rasupport.webprovider.com/ > Our chat room: www.delphi.com/RheumatoidArth1/start >
Guest guest
YES! Five years ago my 7 year old daughter passed away from Leukemia. She had gone through chemo for three years. At the end of her life, this issue started at Childrens Hospital - we had not heard of it until there was a poster asking parents to sign a survey. If we could have gotten pot for her, we would have. As it was, it was too late. I advocate it completely. I also think marijuana should be legalized period. It would stop so much drug runners and deaths. Guest guest
I agree with you Judy!!! I think alcohol is a MUCH more dangerous drug than Marijuana. My daughter says she can't believe how many of her friends drive drunk. I smoked a lot of pot in my younger hippie days and I too think it should be legal for medical use as well as personel use. You are right it would clean up some of the crime around dealing the drug. You also asked about Enbrel. I am still on it and I have found that injections in my tummy bruise less. I never felt as dramatic effect as you did but I think it is an important part of the treatment I get. I am only on the enbrel, prednisone 5mg and a cox 2 study drug, so it must be doing something!! I feel I am on less meds now than ever before. How is doing? And You? trish --- Judy <rrjsen@...> wrote: > YES! Five years ago my 7 year old daughter passed away from Leukemia. Guest guest
Unfortunately, IMHO, the government benefits from Marijuana not being legal. I am sure there is so much corruption under the table that we would puke if we knew the real story. But....that is for another issue. Yes, , it should be legalized. There will always be abusers of the drug, which have and will continue to give Marijuana a bad rap. Just like alcohol. Trish, Thanks for asking about . He got a really severe case of the chicken pox a few months ago, as I am sure most of you remember. He almost ended up in the hospital, but a new viral drug kicked in a few hours before he was to taken. The problem is with his chest. It started with the chicken pox, and we all thought it was a symptom, turns out it wasn't. He has gone for numerous tests, and they have discovered a flap in his heart, in addition he has Pectus Excavatum, a concave chest. So, we go to Phillie on Tuesday for another specialist to look at him. Not sure where we are going from here. Because his dad died at an early age of heart complications, and most of his male relatives on his dad's side are dead from heart problems, they are taking no chances with . I am doing pretty good. I survived another gloomy winter - I cannot wait to move out of PA. Thanks for asking! Wish I had a better answer. Guest guest
Like many of you, I must agree marijuana should be legalized... both for medical and recreational use. When I was in college, the two most popular drugs were alcohol and pot. I saw more people get hurt, do idiotic things, and break the law from alcohol use - the pot smokers were too busy playing cards and ordering pizza. They got better grades too - I never could understand that! I know people who have used it for chemo side effects with great success. I personally tried it for nausea many years ago and it really helped - too bad it is usually smoked. I've heard of " special " brownies, but never tried them - but that sounds like the ideal formulation! Hmmm, most of my drugs would be better in brownies... ;-) Susie > Unfortunately, IMHO, the government benefits from Marijuana not being > legal. Guest guest
Susie, Years ago a bunch of us made marijuana brownies - we just added it to the mix! I never tried it because marijuana just made me sleepy, but the others liked it!!
