Guest guest
Not responding to novacaine was one of the 'bells' that went off when I first read about EDS. My mom and brother both complain that they need tons of it and it either doesn't work or it wears off right away. I haven't had dental work for a long time, but I remember when I had my wisdom teeth out I got a triple dose and still felt plenty of it. Not only does novacaine not work with dental procedures, but I've found it doesn't work anywhere else. As the obstetrician was 'repairing' the tear after my first child was born I told him I could feel every stitch - he replied, just a few more to go (I don't think he believed me) Same with the next two kids. The fourth I had at home and the midwives didn't even pretend to use novacaine - we just sang children's songs while they went to work. Let me tell you, it felt the same with or without novacaine and without the novacaine I didn't have to go through the pain of the shots and I didn't have the post novacaine swelling and actually healed faster. - OK so I told ya'll more than you really wanted to know ..... Guest guest
It doesn't work for me. I have to take xanax, and they use some different type of numbing stuff. My daughter doesn't get numb easy either. They have to keep shooting it in her if she gets any work done. Also, when she had an epidural after lung surgery, that didn't work either.
