Guest guest
My daughter didn't have delayed dental problems, but both her permanent canine teeth didn't come in. It was like 3 years she didn't have them. Then, we found out they were up by her nose, pointing in the direction towards the middle of her face. She had to have surgery to expose them - they removed a lot of bone - put a brace on them and a gold chain, and pull them down gradually. The chain was connected to the rest of her braces. The operation had to be done 2 times, cause one side closed up and the bone grew back before the tooth came down. She almost lost one of the teeth next to one canine, but with tender care, we saved it. It was loose for quite a while, but has hardened up now. It took about 5 years to get it all sorted. Now, she has beautiful teeth. It was a long process, but it has all turned out perfect. (except for the fact that if she doesn't wear her retainer every night, she gets a gap open up between her 2 front teeth - like in just one day - so now we have to get her a permanent retainer). For my son, it is different that you. He has extra molars. They have to come out soon. We all run the gamete. Nothing surprises me anymore. All so much the same, but so different. Guest guest
I had the same problem, but my permanent teeth were in there, and I had a HUGE bump in my gum from them. It's like they couldn't break through. Had to get all 4 front baby teeth pulled, then they finally came through.

Guest guest
ok. 's pain is behind her ears, behind her ear lobe and down her neck. And, she says it hurts like in her ear canal. Since everything is connected, it makes sense. She also complained of her teeth hurting. I just never heard of TMJ causing such intense pain. Thanks,

Guest guest
Ha ha! Boy, if saw that, she'd get mad at you! hehe Most of the time, I like what comes out of her mouth. The other times, I just say what they say to their kids in England - SHUT UP! I don't know why that's such a bad thing to say here in the US. Everyone says it over there. Sometimes, your kids just need to be told to SHUT UP! Why mince words?

I had what was dx'd as a TMJ episode a few years after I started working full time out of high school. I remember sitting at my desk in work with my face in my hands while tears silently streamed down my face. I remember the intense pain along the top of my head running front to back but not where else it was. I was told I had basically pulled the major muscles in my head & jaw from grinding (I did grind back then). So if that was TMJ it left a lasting impression on me of how intense it can be. Hugs, B.
