Guest guest
--- can you not use sauna with dmsa for detox? What is your opinion as to why not to use? i have wondered if it was the " cure of the day " since when you contact someone about these they are you to buy it before you get a packet of info leighanne

Guest guest
I just searched through the archives trying to answer my own question. I can't believe how long it takes to search through a couple thousand messages! Most of what I found just said, " Don't use FIR saunas " but I did find two posts that said more. I'm posting them here to save everyone else the time. The messages are: #115701 From: " andrewhallcutler " <AndyCutler@a...> Date: Tue Jul 13, 2004 12:16 am Subject: Re: FIR sauna > Our whole family uses the FIR sauna by HighTech Health and we love > it! I have heard from any number who got worse rather than better using these saunas. > We liked it so much we bought one for my Mom and Dad who are in > their 70's. They really like it as well. Apparently the research didn't involve actually reading any of the articles cited in the advertising literature, as the ones I have checked did not support the claims made. Also it didn't involve checking the radiation spectrum, since most power is emitted in the near infrared in this particular sauna. It doesn't take a radiometer or spectrophotometer to do this since the radiator surface area is small enough the stated power can only be emitted at a high enough temperature that the radiant energy is mostly not in the FIR. Any radiator you can actually see in a dark room is not emitting much FIR compared to NIR. > In looking back through the archives, the only > caution from Dr. Andy Cutler that I could find regarding the use of > saunas were his reminders about excessive heat and autistic children > as many of them are heat intolerant and have difficult sweating > (which is the body's mechanism for cooling itself). This is correct. All forms of sauna are inappropriate for people who don't sweat appropriately. Infrared saunas are inappropriate for all people. The exception is those few that uniformly irradiate the body and transfer heat evenly. I know of no commercial models that do this particularly well, aside from the Heavenly Heat model which mostly does it by having infrared + regular sauna with most of the actual heat transfer being by regular (convection) sauna. > I hope this helps. > > Lujene G. > > > > > > I think FIR saunas need to be approached VERY cautiously. It's like my small personal > sauna, I really like it. This may be OK - the issue is to have a reasonably uniform distribution of heat on you - presumably the tub is hot and the air is hot and the heater is hot and thus you are getting a nice, even heat flux all over you, and you are in water so your sweat rate is really high (since the sweat under water doesn't cool you) and the LAST thing you want to do when using sweat detox is reduce your sweat rate by letting it evaporate into cool dry air!!! >I know that FIR (far-infrared) sauna should > never be used by mercury toxic people, but only now it crossed my > mind that what I'm doing might be dangerous too. I always thought FIR > sauna uses some kind of high-tech infrared heaters different > than " regular " infrared. I'm still not sure. So here is my question: > CAN INFRARED HEATERS (OTHER THAN THOSE IN FIR SAUNA) ALSO BE > DANGEROUS IF USED EXCESSIVELY, LIKE I'VE BEEN USING IT????? If used to apply a high heat flus to a small part of the body I think they can be a real problem. If used as you do I would expect them to be generally OK. Far away, large area illuminated, uniform heating of the body by one or more means. . . . . . . . . . . > Thank you very much! Guest guest
Thanks for the leg work here! I thought if one does not sweat well, (caused by the mercury), that the sauna's were good for that to help get the body to sweat. I have this problem. Guess I thought that it would be a bonus to be able to push stuff out, not necessarily mercury but other crud in there locked up and which doesn't come out as freely. Is this not the case? I do love to get super hot in the shower, but will say it does make me have to lie down for a few minutes when I get out... Thanks, Kari [ ] Re: *WHY -infrared sauna detox I just searched through the archives trying to answer my own question. I can't believe how long it takes to search through a couple thousand messages!
