Guest guest
Hello, My son will be six this August and I have some questions about immunizations. I am really not sure if any will be required for him this year, but I choose to abstain from future immunizations. Also, how do I get an exemption. I have a letter from a DO, but I didn't know if I had to register. I live in Houston, Texas. Any help is appreciated.
Guest guest
We live in Arkansas and had a letter from a Doctor too. We still had to go thru the state health dept. to get the actual exemption. We sent the paper work of at least three weeks ago and haven't heard or received anything. My husband called and they acted like we should have already recieved it. They were going to send us something else and we never got it either. So hopefully we'll get all this done before school starts. I'm glad we started so early. You can call your state health dept. and ask what you need to do. Diane >My son will be six this August and I have some questions about immunizations. Guest guest
We live in San . Go to www.immunizetexas.com Here you can get the address to write for an " Exemption from Immunizations for Reasons of Conscience " Affidavit Form. They will send you up to 5 forms that have various immunizations listed on them. You check the box (es) of which vaccines you dont want your child to receive then have it notarized. I have done this for the Hep vaccine they want our kids to get at 2 here in South Texas. The immunizations page is not pulling up at the moment in its entirety (only the top half) so if this continues, email me and I will give you the address and a copy of my letter you can just fill in with your own info. Guest guest
A good website to check out for Texas and immunizations is: http://www.vaccineinfo.net/ In Texas, there are 3 exemptions: - Medical - Religious - Conscientious You need to make sure your letter from your DO complies with the medical exemption. I'm not sure what you mean about whether or not to register? If you're enrolling your child in school you'll need to provide their immunization record or appropriate exemption. If you're homeschooling you don't need to do anything. Kim
