Hi Sue,

Oh Sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear this! I was wondering why we

haven't seen much of you on the list the last couple days....I would

have called, but had some personal issues going on. I hope things

get better Soon, Sue! Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers!

Love Lana

Hi Sue. I don't take it, but Dylan does. This is the medication/narcotic that

has left him with a clear head. I'm now considering to have him take drivers Ed.

My mom is on 75 MG and she still drives. She has a clear head. My mom had no

side affect when she started them. Dylan had to cold sweats with every new patch

for the first 2 to 3 weeks. I have heard of people getting nausea from them at

first. It's just one of those things you have to work through for a short while.

Hope this helps. Cindylouwho.

Duragesic patch

Hi Everyone,

been having lots of pain lately, and have tried the

patch in the past, but within three days had lots of nausea and vomiting,....

It is the only time I can remember that I felt almost

completely painfree.

My question is: Does anyone here who is on it still drive?

Thanks for any help.

Hugs,

Sue

Hi Sue

I too tried the patches in the past and had a fairly bad experience

with them. While leaving me completely (well almost) pain free and

level headed they also left with with incredible nausea and light

headedness. My new pain doctor has discussed the patch again and

said that the first time i was on it wasnt handled correctly so to

try it again more steps woudl have to be taken. This is what he told

me. When i was first on it the gp just had me start right with

wearing it even though i hadnt had any type of narcotics in a few

months (as he wouldnt perscribe anything to me) and i was never given

a perscription anti-nauseant which I should have been given according

to him. Well thats just my two cents :)

Duragesic patch

Hi Everyone,

Need some info......have been having lots of pain lately, and have tried the

patch in the past, but within three days had lots of nausea and vomiting, so

have been afraid to try again, but they did do a scope at that time and the

problem I was having couldn't have been caused by the patch and I am thinking

abut asking to try again. It is the only time I can remember that I felt

almost

completely painfree.

My question is: Does anyone here who is on it still drive? Do you get used

to the medicine and are able to drive? Even though the meds I take now, no

longer affect me mentally (tolerance) I am afraid to drive while

taking....figure it I get in an accident, even if not my fault they will try

to peg it on me.

So hence my refusal to take meds around the clock, and i guess if this will

hinder my ability to drive I won't do the patch either.

Thanks for any help.

Hugs,

Sue

Thanks for the info !!!! Yes, I am opiod tolerant.....I was on some

pretty heavy stuff when I was in the hospital for seven weeks. Now it seems

what I am on at home is not helping, although like I said I don't use it the way

I should. I think I am going to try it again (the patch). I have just been

miserable and being I have been so sick I just don't see fighting this issue

any longer is helping my situation. I just want to enjoy what ever time I have

left and I certainly am not when I am this miserable. I just was worried

about functionality as it is important that I continue to be a mom for as long

as

possible.

Thanks!

Hugs,

Sue
