Guest guest
What a relief, ! I'm so happy for all of you! I hope she will be vigilant regarding getting the exams on time and such. Love Lana Sara-Thank you all for prayers! My daughter Sara is home for the weekend for Easter. She called the doctor's office up at school (it had been over a week since this person who turned out to be a midwife told her the biopsys were probably malignant). She was first told yesterday that they had to talk more with the doctors there. Then she got a call back from a NURSE who said that things look ok right now but that she is considered at high rish for cervical cancer and will need to be seen again in 3 months for another pap or biopsys. We were of course so terribly grateful and want to thank everyone for their prayers. I know it made a difference to me. I feel like this whole thing has been handled very badly but that doctor's office but I have little rights now that sh e is 20. We are just glad that for now, things are ok. Guest guest
Opps sorry for the empty post. , This is much better news. Many of us have had these scares, but usually at not such a young age. Hopefully all is well and will continue to be. Sara will just have to be sure to keep her tests up to date and often for a while. I agree that this was not handled well from the sounds of things. They through you all into a traumatic, panic situation when caution was needed. I hope things go more smoothly from here. Cindylouwho Sara-Thank you all for prayers! Guest guest
I also wanted to mention that I have had for the past 3 years a colposcopy done at a womens hospital as I had an abnormal pap test and now this August it will be the 3rd one (the lsat 2 being normal) so hopefully this one will be as well. I wish you well for your daughter. Betty Sara-Thank you all for prayers! > My daughter Sara is home for the weekend for Easter. Guest guest
Thank God, ... How relieved all of you must be... I hope there is some way you or Sara can get back to the office with some feedback though, because that midwife should not have said what she did to Sara... And she should learn never say anything like that to anyone again, she should know what reactions and worry that causes... I am so glad for you!!!! hugs, Aase Marit

Guest guest
I am glad that this news was good. It's unusual for a cancer diagnosis to be made in someone so young, but not at all uncommon for there to be abnormal cells. It's a time in her life when hormones are raging and then settling, I wonder sometimes if this is a potential cause - this isn't the first time I have heard of this occurring in someone her age that I know of personally, but after a year of close monitoring, the cells convert to normal and have stayed that way in all of the people I know who experienced this. Indeed, the doctor and the office did handle this stupidly - when a university student appears for this test and the news is in question, especially a student who is away from home - the office ought to call and involve another adult to help with the understanding and translation of news so that there is no misunderstanding. Sara may be 20, but she's still your child. Over the summer, you might want to have her see your own doctor to have this all reassessed, just for the peace of mind and continuity of care that you have with your own doctors.
