This is considered to be a diagnostic criteria of EDS, in some........it

means you have features that can apper Marfan's like........doesn't mean you

have

Marfan's though. And usually the height thing is a diagnostic

criteria/differential for Marfan's vs EDS. There are always some who do not fit

a specific

criteria. There are some who have EDS and are very tall, and soem with

Marfan's who are not REAL tall, but very, very rare to find a short person with

Marfan's. I think what your doctor must have meant is you have Marfanoid

Habitus.......I have noticed this particular feature with many with

VEDS.....long thin

fingers, long arms, and long legs.....I am short but have long extremities.

Makes me appear as though I am taller, LOL!!!!!

Hugs,

Sue

Hi Moon, although it is a major diagnostic characteristic, it doesn't

always follow that you have to be very tall to be Marfan. I actually

have an EDS and Marfan mutation and I'm only 5ft tall even in my

thick heeled ortho shoes! I do have a lot of other marfanoid fetures

though, especially the long, thin limbs in proportion to body size

which is a main feature with Marfan syndrome and Marfanoid habitus.

Hope that helps and good luck today :-)

Love and hugs...Jo
