Hi ,

I'm sorry, but I had to butt in here. Your question about how long

it's going to take them to figure this out? Is the same question most

of have. We have been diagnosed with RA, Sjogrens, Fibro and so on, we

have rashes and fungus and kidney problems. And still no

diagnosis. The medical community for the most part just plain does

not know enough about this disease.........and it is aggrevating to

those of us Still waiting for treatment. We spend most of our energy

trying to get someone to help us and all we get is dog gone tired!

Funny how that works, huh?

I just wanted you to know there are many of us with the same

questions you have!

Hi Deanna,

When I read your response to , I was really intrigued. You had a

negative ANA for a while but you were still diagnosed with Lupus?

What other indicators did they use?

My ANA is negative but the DNA tests are positive. I often have a

high CR-P and low white cells. I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis and the

doctor is trying to figure out if I only have RA or if I have Lupus,

too. I do have photosensitivity and am prone to some very odd rashes

on my face and thighs. Nothing clears them up and they go away when

they're good and ready...sigh. I've long had vascular problems and

had to move to a warm climate because of the way the cold affected my

blood vessels and nerves. My rheumy said that it's not likely to be

Lupus unless the ANA is positive but she hasn't ruled it out because

of the other test results.

I just want to know what's going on with my body and what I need to

do! The rheumy put me on Plaquenil and Methotrexate because she said

they're helpful for both RA and Lupus. I'm feeling a bit better but

not by much and I'm wondering how long it's going to take for them to

figure everything out and get me the treatment I need!

Any advice?

-Anne
