Have you discussed the possibility of beta-blockers with the

cardiologist? I have the marfanoid body type and I have OI with

arrythmias (although I was officially diagnosed with vasodepressor

syncope, also known as neurocardiogenic syncope, I believe I may have

POTS also... I need to double check my tilt table results the next

time I see my cardio). Anyway, I've been taking beta-blockers (I

take atenelol) for several years and my arrythmias have lessened

significantly and my syncope episodes nearly disappeared (I still

sometimes have pre-syncope episodes, but I haven't actually fainted

in a long time). And the best part is that I have had no noticible

side-effects. You may want to talk with the cardio to see if beta-

blockers may be helpful in your daughter's case. There may be other

symptoms that contradict their use, however.

Also, Mike had suggested some polarity techniques for arrythmias a

month or two ago. You might want to use the archive feature on the

website to see if you can find the post. Unfortunately my print-out

of it is at home so I can't just look at it for the post number right

now.

I forgot to ask if she's had an EP Study done (EP stands for Electro

Physiological or something very similar). That should show the type

of arrythmia as well as what causes it and would help to determine

the best course of treatment. Sometimes RF ablation can be done

during the same exam period which can cure the arrythmias.

Meaghan feels exceedingly hard done by that home teaching is

unattainable in Ontario, so she is constantly frustrated when reminded

of it, especially because she is soooo wiped out that she can't think by

the end of the day.

Bernadette - have you emailed Cameron? She is now homeschooling both

her boys and she told me they are loving it!
