Guest guest
Hello all...just a quick note to say thanks to everyone for all the support in the past few days. I haven't had much chance to be online this past weekend, because of the holiday and general insanity that goes with it. Isn't it nice that we only have them here and there? Anyway, things have gotten much better for my mom over the weekend. The psychiatrist at the rehab center saw her, and they decided that she was overmedicated...took her off 4 meds, decreased the doses on others...and added in zyprexa. Turns out that zyprexa is wonderful stuff. ;-) By the end of the first day, she was much clearer in her thoughts...altho she still told me that she hadn't seen my sister in a week (one day, actually), and that the nurses found her on the bathroom floor when she broke her foot (it was actually beside the bed...but before she didn't even know she had broken her foot). I talked to her yesterday, and she continues to improve...still foggy here and there (she had a great Thanksgiving yesterday, and told me they did surgery on her foot). But she is so much better than before it's not even funny...knows that my niece is the one having the baby, is able to knit a bit (huge!), and remembers things we told her a day or two before. All in all, I feel way better. She will still need to stay with my sister for a while, but it looks like it isn't nearly as awful as we had feared....guess we'll see how the next few days go. Thanks again. It's been a rough week. :-P Raena
Guest guest
Raena, That's just wonderful about the progress she's made after just one day. Maybe after more of it gets out of her system, she'll do even better. She (and your whole family) will be in my thoughts and prayers. ellen OT again...update on my mom Hello all...just a quick note to say thanks to everyone for all the support in the past few days. Guest guest
What good news, Raena. You must be so relieved. Your mother is lucky to have such caring daughters.
