Asunto: Video Rules of Young Autie Boys

Style I: Take out all the videos you might possibly be interested in

and line them up for perusal. Select one and insist it be completely

and totally rewound so that you do not miss any of the tantilizing

previews before the movie. Insist that the moment the credits start

the tv be turned off as the movie is over. Eject movie and place

somewhere, where is not important, it has allready been viewed, and

select another from our carefully selected cast of videos neatly

lined up.

Style II: Open and close video drawers while naming videos and

saying NO. Finally select a movie case and take it out to examine

the contents. Change your mind and put the movie AWAY! Continue

opening and closing drawers until a video is finally selected.

Change your mind the minute the video is put into the VCR and insist

it be put AWAY! Now! Repeat the above procedures until a video is

finally selected. When starting the movie you must be absolutely

sure this is the proper movie, and the only way to do so is for the

movie to start at the beginning of the movie itself. Watching

previews is a waste of time, and besides, you never know what movie

you have by the previews. To be sure, you MUST start at the start of

the movie. The movie is not over until the music and the credits are

over. Do not foolishly turn the television off while the music and

credits are playing. This is a fighting offense. When the video is

over dance excitedly about shouting AWAY until you have the video in

your hands and lovingly put it back in it's case and in the drawer,

unless the movie is THE selected movie of the day, OR is ELMO Visits

the FIREHOUSE. If this is the case then the movie must be rewound

immediately to the start of the movie and viewed again. For Elmo

this consists of six or more times a day interspersed with Blue's

Clue's (thanks Sara!) and occasional other choices.

Do not try this at home. These methods are not recommended for the

faint of heart of short of patience. If you are going to try these

make sure you have adequate safety gear (wig for pulling hair out).

I find this slightly more annoying than Style I. Having videos out

all over the place is irritating, but taking forever to select a

video only to immediately change your mind is maddening. Top that

with this obsession has of putting the video back in the case

(not anyone else) and putting it back in the drawer (yes he

knows where each belongs), and screaming NO, AWAY while doing it.

Style II is definitely the least preferred method, despite the neater

outcome.
