Annette,

Have you tried removing highly phenolic foods from the diet? This would

include removing a whole bunch of fruits (apples, cherries, oranges, grapes,

berries, sometimes bananas), also any artificial preservatives or colorings at

all.

Personally, I can't count on No Fenol to help with all of those, so just don't

feed them. Occasionally I'll give my son an apple or diluted orange juice

with extra NoFenol, but by far the best for my son is to avoid all of above.

I also think when my son is battling yeast, his tolerance for phenols is

worse. And the opposite is true too; when he seems less yeasty, he can tolerate

more phenols.

I've never tried Nystatin because I've always thought my son has a leaky gut

(another possible side effect of yeast) and had heard too many times that

Nystatin may not be a good idea for leaky gut kids. I'd also heard many strains

of

yeast have become resistant to Nystatin. And I also always try

natural/non-drug remedies first (my personal choice).

For GSE, I give 2 drops once a day for 2-3 days, along with one capsule

NoFenol. This is a whole lot less than most people seem to use, but my son (7,

60

pounds) is very sensitive to it. This clears up his yeast quite a bit, but then

I have to stop because the phenolic symptoms overtake him (circles under

eyes, irritibility). Also, if I use GSE too many days in a row, his stool gets

real loose and I have to double his probiotics to combat what I suspect is bad

bacteria taking over.

I use OLE sometimes in the same general protocol, but can't slip it into my

son as easily due to taste, and he won't swallow capsules yet.

Just my thoughts,

Debbie

Debbie,

I am battling yeast and Phenols i suspect. I am very new at this.

My son (30 months 38 pounds) started Nystatin 300,000 units 3X's

daily. I give him 1/2 cap of No Fenol with each meal. What protocol

of GSE and OLE do you use for yeast and how much No Fenol are you

giving. He has bounced off the wall for 8 days now, light purple

rings under eyes. I have not noticed the " die off " red ring. His red

ring disappeared about 2 weeks after starting the Nystatin. He has

started to get irritatated when I wipe his bottom during diaper

changes though.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I am at a loss as to what I

am now battling.

Thanks,

Annette in IL
