Guest guest
I just realized that I may never have introduced myself. The brain is just not with it at times. I am 44, married, 3 daughters. (Poor husband being raised in a house of females. LOL) My primary Dr. says that I do have lupus but the Rheumatologist was upset that I even went to see him when my Dr. sent. But enough of that I am not gonna run him down tonight. I work 4 days a week. I work for a Rescue Mission. I am the Assistant Kitchen Coordinator. I am the supervisor the the PM kitchen crew. Most people think of Rescue Missions as just serving the down and out homeless, drunks, etc. We do have a population of about 200 homeless that we feed. However, we also have a mens and womens Recovery Home. I love my job. That is why I get so upset when I hurt so much or feel so bad that I can barely make it to do my job. God truly blesses me with my job and with our guests at the Mission. All in All we serve on the average 300 meals 3X a day. It gets hectic at times but the rewards are awesome. The kitchen crew is made up of the men and women who are in the Recovery Home. It gets interesting working in a kitchen with men and women who are learning to put their lives back together again. A lot of them have gnoe so long with a drugged brain that it doesn't know how to work. My true love working there is serving the homeless population. They are extremely special. At first it was a shock for me to see people with no hope, no expressions on their faces. I have come to love them. The other day one of our guests that I have seen on an almost daily basis with absolutely no expression on his face smiled, waved, and shouted hello from across the room when I came into it. I cannot even begin to tell you what that did for me. I better go now. I could talk and talk on this subject. Ya'll have a great day. Right now I am pain free. I ended up resorting to some pain meds again. I just hate to give in. But I know that If I take them I will rest better and feel better the next day. My Dr. wanted to know how much pain meds do I take. The concern is if I rely to heavily on them I believe. But since until last month I had only had one prescription filled in 5 months they don't have to worrry.
