I had a catscan with contrast December 2003. I believe My GI is full

of adhesions but nothing showed. Is there some test to see

adhesions?

------------

I don't know of any " test " as such, but adhesions can be detected

manually by someone properly trained to do so and with the necessary

palpation skills.

Generally, this would be an osteopath or other practitioner trained

in visceral manipulation. Bascially, the internal organs and

intestinal tracts have normal relationships and movements compared

to each other. Adhesions are like scar tissue that causes adjoining

tissues to stick to each other instead of sliding and gliding like

they are supposed to. And there are visceral manipulation and

osteopathic techniques that can be used to loosen those adhesions

and increase motility and mobility of the internal organs.

I can't give you any detail from first hand training in yet, but I

will be taking my first VM class starting next week and hope to know

when I am done with it. I better - that's why I am taking it.

At any rate, if you are interested in finding out more or would like

help in finding a practitioner, let me know your city and state and

I can check for you.

Somerset, NJ. My adhesions are from four surgeries. Plus I was told I have an

INCISIONAL hernia.

I don't find anybody in Somerset. There are, however, a total of 83

listings for the state of New Jersey. That doesn't mean that there

are 83 I would recommend - it just means 83 with at least level 1

training. For what you are talking about, you want someone with

advanced training, and the more the better.

There were too many to reasonably list all the details at this

time. What I am going to do is list the town/city and number of

classes they have taken in VM, starting with the highest and working

down from there. From this, you tell me which locations would work

best for you and I will refine the list from there.

I am not listing any location with only one class in VM, no matter

how much else they might have taken in other things. At higher

levels of training, my recommendations might be for someone with a

lesser amount of VM if their other training is superior. It all

depends on what I see.

And what I checked is only for New Jersey. My lousy Atlas doesn't

show Somerset so I am not exactly sure how close it might be to a

state line someplace. Point is, if none of the locations below are

good for you and you are close to a state line, let me know and I

can check for there also.

For now, just tell me which locations would/might work for you and I

will pull the details and go from there.

Six Classes: Ewing, Fairhaven, Fairlawn, Middletown, Montclair,

Tenafly

Five Classes: Haddon Heights, Piscataway, Manasquan, stown,

Runnemeade, Tenafly

Four Classes: Long Branch, Parsippany, Bloomfield, Plainsboro

Three Classes: North Bergen, Fort Lee, Marlton

Two Classes: Cape May, Easthampton, Edison, Florham Park,

sburg, Chatham, Cherry Hill, Flemington

None of those. I am ON the county line. New Brunswick is near. Even NY is

near, one hour away ... If I ever get back to being able to take buses. Caro.

I checked New York City. There are a number of very highly

qualified listings, which is not surprising since New York State and

Nebraska have the highest requirements in the country for massage

licenses at 1000 hours.

One listing, however, popped up that looks iparticularly mpressive.

I am copying his listing, plus his profile. Like I said, his

background is very impressive and he is an actual doctor

specializing in musculoskeltal pain.
