On the subject of how people that have endured abuse perceive relationships, I

think this is so significant in how we see things and function. For a long

time I have had a difficult time believing that God has time for me or that I am

anything special. I know that sounds terrible, but this is how I have felt. I

have fully believed that He is there for others just not for me. I didn't

really " define " this though, until this past year when I was reading an article

on

abuse and it said that many women that have had abusive fathers have never had

an experience with a loving father, so they have a difficult time perceiving

that He would consider them special. Anyway, this is just my experience and

reading this article was very healing for me because I was able to define my

feelings and get past them. This is in no way meant as advice for someone else,

just

my experience on this subject.
