Hi Mike,

I haven't complained YET, as Mike has shoulder surgery today, but I DO plan

to! Loudly and clearly! I'm going to say that either I get to see the one

I saw Wed. or I won't be back!

To begin with, I hope you did complain about that first session.

And if you haven't complained yet - you should, preferably in

writing to the clinic

Specifically about that first session - a couple of questions. Did

you have inflammation in your neck when you went in? Was the heat

moist or dry? Did the " therapist " (term used exremely loosely)

bother to explain any of the exercises to you? Did the person demo

any of them to make sure you knew how to do them correctly? Were

you given any explanation of WHY you were supposed to do any of them?

I'm sure I have some inflammation. It was moist heat for 10 min. She did

NOT explain OR demonstrate the exercises and didn't really tell me why

either. I knew why, but what if I hadn't? The term " therapist " does NOT

fit with her at all!

Second, I have no clue as to what she was doing with the towel

wrapped around her arm and your head. I can't say that it wasn't

acupressure, but it sure doesn't sound like any variation I know

about. I have, however, most definitely seen situations in the past

where someone said they were doing " acupressure " and they most

definitely were not. ly, it does not sound like true

acupressue. It sounds more like some form of " mobilization. "

The way you can confirm for sure one way or the other is to simply

ask her which meridian points she was using and why she chose those

points. If she wasn't working with the meridian structure, she can

call it whatever she wants, but it isn't acupressure. I would be

curious about her answers.

I wondered, as it wasn't like what you did for me. I will ask her about the

meridian points out of curiosity, but I think she just felt around until she

felt the muscle or whatever bulging. Does that make sense? I had a notion

it wasn't acupressure, but it was at least SOMETHING! I didn't wake up with

a headache today at least. I'll give it a few more sessions IF I get her,

but if I don't see lots of improvement, I'll stop going and ask for a second

opinion.

Thanks Mike!

Love Lana
