Guest guest
, An Endocrinologist studies the glands and hormones in the body. Growth hormones, the thyroid for metabolism, adrenal glands, All the glands and the hormones they produce. Dylan saw one, one time. I'm guessing with Lindsey they are looking at the thyroid, for a starting point. Perhaps the pancreas enzymes too. Cindylouwho What does an endrocrinologist do? I took back to her GP today. She is going to review her xrays and talk with the radiologist. has lost about 11 pounds. That's not good cause she only weighs 100 now. She's 5' 7 " tall. She's always been tall and thin. She eats like a horse. I suppose she hasn't been eating as much lately casue she's been sick. But, that's an awful lot of weight to loose. Anyway, she said she will review the xrays, and find out if they show anything. And, she may send her for a bone scan or an MRI. She also said she may send her to an oncologist or an endrocrinologist. We will wait for her phone call back. didn't seems worried about that. Thank goodness. But I am. I don't know what an endrocrinologist does. I don't even know if I'm spelling it right. Does it have anything to do with metabolism? For some reason, I'm thinking I heard that somewhere. That's interesting, because is so thin, and eats so much. And, she gets low blood sugar all the time. Maybe there could be something wrong with her metabolism/? Could that make you sick with other things? I'm wondering if she can't absorb the nutrients she needs, or something like that. I mean, she eats a LOT. One friend's dad joked when taking out for dinner with his family, that they would stop and pick up a cow for 's dinner. She actually earned $20.00 last summer for eating the most steak at our family reunion. Beating out all her cousins, aunts and uncles. And, she has 4 boy cousins who are between 17 and 22 - and they eat a lot. So, I am just so frustrated, and worried. There is definetly something going on with her ribs. The dr had a confused look on her face. jumps when you touch it, and there is a definite swelling or lump on the bone. The xray didn't show anything - even with the soft tissue - from the radiologist report. Anyway, now I'm worried. Well, more worried than usual. They work with the endorcine system, as in glands and hormones. And yes, it would have to do with metabolism, among other things.

Yes, I do believe it has something to do with metabolism. Mainly, it regulates the pituitary gland, and that's really what does all the regulating I think! I hope this helps! Guest guest
Oh-------- Why did you have to mention the pancreas? That's a scary one. Hope the dr calls today. See, even though Dr Byers said doesn't have EDS, there is no way anyone can tell me SOMETHING isn't wrong. I don't believe him for a second. He said she doesn't have it cause she's not really hypermobile. Well, with all the other things she's got going on, and with the things going on with me, and - well, Something isn't right. It's just too wierd.

Guest guest
I know. I'm thinking maybe there is a problem with her absorbing food. She eats so much, is so thin, and is now loosing weight, and she breaks her ribs from sneezing? That's sort of sounds like she's not absorbing nutrients. I know there is a name for that. Do you know what it is?
