Guest guest
Wow Jo- I have had these happenings too- and sometimes the blood will spurt across the room even- and I did nothing- absolutely nothing- to make it bleed and there were no prior sores......... and have noticed lately it is worse ( around that time of the month )..... I too had an aneurysm ( 2 of them in my right calf ) - but this bleeding and stuff even happened as a kid and I didn't have the aneurysms until 2 yrs ago- so dont let it worry you too much on that part anyhow. Did you see a dr? Or call one? Someone should at least know this.... But I do exactly what you did....... get someone else to clean the blood- ( after all bending down to do it yourself is just going to put more pressure on the spot and make it bleed even more ) then the ice compress and leg elevation, then when it stops bleeding I put this cream on it that the dr gave me for open wounds of such- called Carrasyn Hydrogel wound dressing- works great- and then I put a patch over it...... not a band-aid but gauze or whatever you call it and tape ( that wont hurt the skin when you take it off )- Really is about all one can do- and if worried about clots- I call and make an appointment to have that scan on my legs done....... can't even think of the name of that scan- wow...... but I am sure you know what I mean? As for bruising, whoppers- have some pics of some , I will try to add them to the site today so you can see. - But you sure are NOT being a whimp, by far---------------- it hurts like ******** and really can scare the daylights out of a person, when nothing happened to cause it.. Take care and remember lol- your not a whimp----- how big of a bruise do you have today? Mine ended up spreading from the bleeding spot ( thigh ) then went all the way down my leg then it just seemed like it went out my toes- as if it had to work down and out...... Very odd..... Hugssssssssssss- TJ God Bless And Hugs- Love Moon Bleeding again :-( Sorry for the whine but I'm really scared and just need to vent. I've just had a really big bleed from my right leg again. I've been having these weird " spurters " where for no reason my vessels burst and bleed into both surrounding tissue/joint and most oddly externally out through the skin too, for several months now. I've kind of gotten used to them a little but tonight has really freaked me out. I simply crossed my legs, felt a big pop and before I knew it there is blood pumping everywhere from a hole in my leg. I've finally managed to stop the bleeding with a cold compress, but I and my bedroom now look like a scene from a horror movie. My Dad is actually cleaning up the puddle I left in the carpet. My leg is black and blue and throbbing as the vessel is now ballooning up and the blood is leaking out into my calf muscle and knee joint. I feel such a wimp complaining about this, but it hurts so much I could just cry. I already have a small aneurysm in my wrist as a result all the bursting and ballooning, I'm terrified the same thing is going to happen in my leg too. Sorry for being a real 'fraidy cat - maybe one day Santa will bring me those brave pills I keep asking for. Thanks for listening. Love and hugs....Jo xxx To learn more about EDS, visit our website: http://members.rogers.com/ceda2/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Jo -- nope, you're not whining, you're not a wimp - just to have blood start spurting out would entirely freak me out. I think you acted amazingly calm! I'm used to walking down the street and having my joints go a different way - but my blood I tend to keep in my body. Though I imagine if it were to happen my kids would love playing doctor and bring out the bandages, the wraps and even enjoy cleaning up the blood :-) To me this sounds pretty serious - please keep us informed as to what's going on. Hugs from here to you. > Bleeding again :-( > > > Sorry for the whine but I'm really scared and just need to vent. I've > just had a really big bleed from my right leg again.
