Guest guest
Yuck. But waking up early(even that early) is easier for me than getting up all night. I would rather have 4 or 5 hours uninterupted than 8 hours interupted! Bleech. But getting up before the sun is no fun no matter how you look at it. Guest guest
WE TOOK A BREAK FROM CLONIDIDNE AND THEN WENT BA c K IT IS WOERking again.....sorry Yessenia wont leave me or the keyboard alone jcqu IE h Re: clonidine doesn't work anymore. :-( > > Or should I just give him more when he's wide-awake at 4am? Clonidine has a tendency to do this...the body accomodates to it and you need more and more to calm a child down. That's why we had to move on to other meds. Options? Talk to the doc about increasing the dose. OR try adding in a magnesium supplement...and/or EFAs. OR, depending on the behaviors you are seeing, make environmental/program changes. Guest guest
I hope so too but I am pretty sure that will not happen as I have a ton of things that must get done and any freetime I have I spend here reading email as it is my glimpse into the outside world of adults and it helps me regain what little sanity I have left. Guest guest
I am thrilled she is feeling better. But I have to vaccum at least 3 times a day and keep the dogs out all day and dust all the time and changing bedding. But it is all worth it of course. Seems silly to keep giving a med that he's not responding to, and he's not a kid I could get magnesium or EFAs into, not in the forms they come in from the health food store. I'm not wild about increasing the dose, as the doc told me what you said above -- and so I'd just have to keep increasing it over time, and I'm not crazy about that idea. Don't ask me why; I don't know. It's just a gut feeling. So we'll see how it goes, anyway. Jacquie

Guest guest
Jacquie, If it was initially for calming him down and helping him focus at school, if it's needed there are always other things to try. Funny thing is that we never had to increase 's dose...another of the examples that one size does NOT fit all with our kids! Sue
