I've known that something was wrong for about 2 years now, but couldn't

figure it out. My grandmother dropped the bomb on me that she had fibro, and

that it sounded like I did to.

We are military (currently stationed in Florida) and the doctors here are

VERY resistant to anything other than bladder infections or colds. So

getting my doc to prescribe anything was a minor miracle. He's admitted that

I do have a lot of symptoms of fibro and lupus, but is unwilling to take the

testing any further, though my families doctor in CA, was very positive that

I have fibro. Unfortunately, this isn't good enough for the military, so the

fight goes on over here.

I'm trying to take the sasalate only once a day, when I feel the pain is the

worst, or a bit before I know I am going to need to do housecleaning, or go

grocery shopping, that sort of thing. To act as kind of a buffer LOL

I have three kids and homeschool, so I'm getting used to just dealing with

the pain. But I guess there will come a time, when " dealing " with it, won't

be enough.

Hi Meredith,

Welcome. I am fairly new here myself. Do you live in the US? The

reason I ask is because about 8 years ago I took the anti-

inflammatory Salsalate, a rheumotologist prescribed it for me. At

first it was like a miracle, I felt 75% better within a matter of a

few days. Unfortunately in my case the great relief didn't last, but

I did continue to take that med for a few years as it did help some,

but never as much as it did right in the beginning. The great thing

was I had no bad side effects from it at all. I wish you the best of

luck, and hope that you find relief from the pain for a long time to

come. BTW, how long have you had fibro? It has been almost 13 years

for me, since I was 26.

Yeah, that's why I am taking it too, stomach and kidney pain, I just get

allergic to things so quickly that I really am careful about doing things

very often, especially when they work!! I would like to keep using them you

know? LOL!! I'm already allergic to most pain meds, so I'd like to hold on

to this!
