Doesn't 's insurance have any kind of prescription coverage? Have you priced the RX out at other pharmacies? Fasten your seatbelt. Looks like I may have to really push on this to get it done too if the republicans are going to put an end to the medicaid waiver. It is too late in the year and normally they do not take kids after spring break. The director was willing to consider it but the only place for would be in the behavior classroom they have, which does make sense of course. He went over to the classroom and assessed what's going on in the classs right now, number of students in the class and present needs of the class. After visiting the class he said that there were enough things being managed in the class as it was, which unfortunately, I can appreciate, especially as they don't HAVE to take him. Sigh. Oh well. Then we file for reimbursement, which is 80%, and wait for them to get around to paying us. Great system huh! Withour present medications that makes my out of pocket about $400 a month just for maintenance meds, after I get reimbursed which is never in time before I have to go buy more meds so there is always a huge hunk of money floating around out there. But everyone knows we are terribly wealthy because afterall we don't qualify for Head Start. (sorry for the tone. Feeling slightly cranky here) > Have you priced the RX out at other pharmacies? It's comparable. I hate to switch pharmacies at this point too cause this pharmacy here will do practically anything for me if at all possible. I'm assuming 's insurance doesn't offer any type of mail order RX? We do that because we get 3 months of meds for the price of 2 months, and our copays are usually $40 that way. I had no idea the boys meds could cost that much...I have 2 on Zyprexa!! OMG!! Don't worry about the tone, I knew it wasn't aimed at me and I sure as hell would sound the same in your situation! Jacquie H It's Always Something The Zyprexa, as prescribed by the doc, is $1280 for a months supply. If we use bigger pills that we can cut in half for an extra mini dose it is a little over $600. For one medication. I allready spend $800 to $1000 a month on maintenance meds. Obviously we must find an avenue to make this work somehow. He HAS to have the meds. No meds, he will not be here. Plain and simple. It's a necessity. I'm going to ask the SPED director to have a Vineland done on him too so that I can apply for state DD svs and from there apply for a SSI Medicaid waiver, but all that takes time. Oh goody. You don't want to know what the rest of the new medications add up to. Oh and the answer was no today on the maybe for Head Start. whole feels like a yo-yo on a roller coaster ride.
