Guest guest
is doing a project on HEDS. One of her questions for her project is, has the child reached major milestones and at what age? Since she's not a " true HEDS " , she made her milestones at the normal time. What about true HEDS kids? Have they sat up, crawled, walked, talked, etc on time? Thanks in advance for your help! Guest guest
Hi Bonnie Dont know if this will help much but i was definatly a delayed development child. I think I was well over a year before walking, and a late talker. My parents always chocked this up to the fact that I was born three months premature (which ive read is also a HEDS characteristic) but we are now wondering about pretty much everything in my life and if it was impacted by undiagnosed eds. Guest guest
, Dylan is 17 years old, DX with EDS3, a little over a year ago. All milestones where normal or early except for speech, which is not unusal for that last of 5 boys. Want more info? just ask. Guest guest
~~ I too reached milestones well in advance. Socially ... my mom always said I was a late bloomer, however. I think it was I was so sick when I was little and started to tear, pop and rip really really early... a bit of an outCAST when you are always in one! Guest guest
I NEVER crawled like a " normal " child. Infact I NEVER crawled at all I sat up (a lot of the time in the W positiion) and sort of used my legs to scoot my self along (we know now that I probably could crawl due to the laxity). I am usure about walking etc and since my Mum passed away in 2002 I will never know. My sister though had MANY speech probelms and had to go through speech therapy. Hope this helps (we are thought to be HEDS but my family shows signs of EDS as well with many members have all teeth removed by age 30). Sharon > is doing a project on HEDS. Guest guest
I sure hope that her presentatin goes well and that her " husband " helps with the " birth " of there little girl , what a good way to make kids research genetics especially since they have in the class who has a genetic disease and waht a great way for her to MAYBE get across to the other students and her teacher what EDS (or HEDS in particular in this case) is like. Let us know how her presentation goes. As for a girls name that is LOTR related (here are all of the girls names I could find on the net from LOTR (one of the 3 parts):- Arwen (Elf) ,Luthien (the elven woman who was the first among them), Eowyn, Galadriel (Elf queen and Arwen's grandmother), Rosie (Hobbit), Freda (Child of Morwen), Morwen (woman from westfold who seds kids away when village attacked by uruk-hai and wildmen), Lobelia (Hobbit). OR use the following site to make up a middle earth name (I put in 's name along with the surname you sign with " Heintskill " and got a HEAP of cool middle earth names, maybe she could use on of them the web site is http://www.barrowdowns.com/middleearthname.asp and the names are things like " Ainadring " one possible elven name for , other are " Ainadringiel, Ainadringien, Ainadringwen " or her female Hobbit name of " Gem " . Well that filled in time looking up that LOTR info.
