Sounds like yeast to me.

She might not tolerate ALA. What is your dose and schedule?

It can also be yeast

It pulls lead from the brain by leeching. Was your child high lead?

Dana, she is on DMSA & ALA from Kirkmans - the low dose kind with

12.5 mg each every 3 1/2 hours. I am almost positive she doen't

have any yeast problems - she has been on diflucan once (her doctor

prescribed as precautionary for the DMSA) and there was no die-off

or anything - her 'poops' are nice & firm & she gets lots of pro-

biotics. She did have lead - but not in the yellow range - but still

she has been excreting lead in every lab test (in the green) along

with mercury and a bunch of other bad stuff.

(Note: sorry for my misspelling in my previous post - she was not

bitching she's been biting!! Freudian slip - I'm the one who's been

bitching!!)

Does the ALA have any additives, or is it just straight ALA?

For my son, his bms are not always an indicator of whether or not he

has yeast. You might try increasing probiotics, or give her an active

yeast killer like GSE or oil of oregano, see if that helps.

She did have lead - but not in the yellow range - but still

Then I would guess lead is coming out of her brain.

No problem. Well, the TYPOS are no problem. Your family will have

the final say on whether your BITCHING is a problem LOL

My daughter starts chewing her hair again on ALA. For her this means she needs

more zinc than in between rounds. I don't know whether your daughter's biting

has similar causes.

[ ] HELP - first time added ALA this weekend

My 4 year old daughter's last fecal metals only showed a teeny bit

of mercury so her doctor said it was time to add the ALA with her

DMSA. This weekend we added ALA. She had lots of temper tantrums

this weekend and was bitching and pinching like a wild woman. I

look like I've been in a war - I am all black and blue and full of

bite marks. Do you think this is a coincidence or a reaction from

the ALA? Has anyone else had a bad reaction to ALA?

On another note: when we began chelation my daughter had NO

functional language. We began chelation with DMSA and she began

saying single words 2 days later - I am not kidding -like an

explosion of language. Something just clicked with her. I know

DMSA is not supposed to cross the blood-brain barrier but I cannot

find any other explanation for her language burst. She is now up to

a vocabulary of 300+ single words and a few phrases. I am so

psyched!!!

Hi Becky,

for me it sounds like bad bacteria. I would try biocidin and oil of

oregano. They usually help with those symptoms for my son.

Hi Becky, It seems like others have already covered most

of the things I can think of that might be culprits here --

such as yeast (which you think isn't it), need for more

minerals, etc.

Regardless of what the cause is, I would sure recommend

a lower amount of ALA--- you don't want to be ALL black

and blue :(

[no, I don't think it is JUST a coincidence!

It is always possible that she really is just reacting to

the mercury (detox), in which case lower dose would help.

I'm not sure what kinds of reactions overdoing sulfur causes,

that is also a possibility (if she is high sulfur).

good wishes,

Moria
