By home schooling, do they mean the teacher coming to her from the school?

, sometimes kids are to sick to even have the teacher come. That doesn't

mean they can haul you off to jail. Dylan was unable to work with the teacher

most of this year due his head being so scrambled from his meds. Now that his

head is clear, the teacher is suppose to get back to be today to see if he

should even try to have him try this year.

HEY! and anyway, Lindsey is over sixteen. Doesn't that law apply to kids under

16??? My kid hasn't been in school since Nov 2002. They don't have a case

against you. You can get all the papers to back you up. Tell them to get a

freaking life and go help some kid that's being neglected and leave your family

alone. Geezzzz you already have her enrolled in a new schooling program.

I just got an e-mail from 's counselor. He says needs to be

enrolled in home school now or they will do a Becca petition on her.

Geesh- sorry to hear this - they just don't understand what it does to an

ill persons body to pile on more stress........ I went through a similar problem

when my sixteen year old was kicked out of school for telling a dream to a

friend and the dream was lengthened and had really scared the principle

etc........ it was about killing his parents......... he shouldnt have told the

friend but he didnt think about the consequences........ I guess it scared the

friend and like I said, by the time it got to the principle- it had a date and

all - so they sent him home to mom......... one of the people in the dream !!!!

LOL..........well anyhow- I knew better- he is a perfectly- normal teen and very

protective of mom- especially with moms EDS problem and the loss of a brother

due to EDS.... But as for his Dad- his Dad knows he dislikes him......... he

will not even speak to his dad so.......he lives in fear of it........

I homeschool - I think you should look into it, not sure where you live now

though- so many people and so many different states........ I get

confused........ please forgive me......... It is legal, it is easier on him,,

easier on me and I make small payments of 34 dollars a month and the whole thing

is only 600 dollars......... instead of waiting till he is 18 to graduate, he

may graduate this year- depends on the amount of effort he puts into it.........

U can get the books in the mail - plus download on line or both....... I help

him with things he doesnt totally grasp........ and as for socialization- he

still gets that as he continues to be friends with his friends. His grades have

went from D's and E's to C's and Above .......... I'm one happy mama on that

part.

http://www.educationdirect.com

Not sure if this will be of any use to you- but wow takes a load off if you can

and it is legit.......... this is how I got my highschool diploma and I went to

regular college approx four years ago......... and the diploma was accepted just

like anyone elses that has went to public school.

Please don't let it get to you too much- there is a way around it.........

Hugs and take care- if you care to learn anything more about this school- the

url above and how does these- please feel free to e-mail me.......

That's the sound of my guts exploding!

I just got an e-mail from 's counselor. He says needs to be

I called the district on Monday, and they are sending me the paperwork. I

suppose now I'll have to drive over to the distict and fill it out there today.

Why why why would they do this to her? and me?

They know EVERYTHING that's going on.

I can see it now. They are gonna haul me off to jail cause my daughter is too

sick to go to school.

It's times like this when I wish we were back in the times when kids got all

their schooling at home, on the prairie.

Like I need this from them now.

I have to enroll her in home school for the period from now until the next

opening in her new school, which won't be until about mid-april.

That way, she doesn't have to go back to her high school, which makes her sick

with anxiety, and would be a waste of time, cause she wouldn't get any credit

for the work, since she's gonna leave before the end of the semester. Then

she's gonna do nova net courses at the new school to make up her credits.

While she's enroled as a home schooler, she will be doing her correspondence

couse through BYU, which is getting her an English credit. She may do another

one too.

I feel like telling the school district to shove it. You are right. They

should spend their time helping the kids who are neglected, and leave mine

alone.

But, they spend so much time trying to keep their security guards out of jail

for abusing the students. Just got another court case started up, and the NAACP

is involved. The security guards in our school district (our city, to be exact)

think they are the all powerful, and can manhandle any student they want however

they want.

It's a disgusting shame.

thanks,

Kicked him out of school for telling a dream? Now, that makes a lot of sense!

What a bunch of goof balls (I would say something else there, but better not).

Anyway, I'll check this stuff out. misses so much school too. I keep

saying I wish I could home school her too. I'm afraid it will be too hard. I'm

afraid we all don't have the discipline.

I'm not worried about the social aspect. They still hang out with their

friends.

I'll check this out. I suppose you sign up for it, and make the payments, and

they send you the course material.

That would be so easy.

I was wondering if there was something like that. I wouldn't be able to handle

figuring out all the require course material. If someone just sent it to me,

then that sounds pretty easy!!!!

Thanks.

I'll probably be talking about this more with you, if you don't mind.

, I don't know if Washington is different than Michigan, but any kid 16 or

over can drop out of school. So... The law your talking about would not apply to

Lindsey. Is it the same way where you are? Another thing to keeping her in some

school program, somewhere is to keep her covered on your insurance. After the

age of 17 she must be a student for her to stay under your policy. Well....

That's the way it is here at least. Well, I just hope you get this all settled

fast so you can let this one added stress disappear. Cindylouwho

Oh, the home health tutor was a joke. Either is was the tutor herself, who was

an airhead, or the teacher's wern't cooperating. Either way, it was a waste of

time. And, I don't have the energy to fight it. I don't even want to call the

district to tell them what a joke it was. Screw em.

I so want my kids out of that damn school, and to teach them myself. I could do

it, if I could discipline myself. I just couldn't do the math. Tom could do

that part.

They all miss a lot of school. It just all a mess.

Scoot HATES dealing with the jr high kids. Every single day he tells me about

some kid who punched him in the stomach, (never bad enough to call the school,

just enough to piss him off. He isn't getting beat up -it's more of a playful

punch thing - not that that makes it ok) stole his pencil, Got into his

backpack, the stupid remarks they make, the way half of them pretend to be gang

bangers. He gets comments that he's poor cause he wears converse all star

tennis shoes (they are SO COOL!). People call him a " goth " cause he wears a lot

of black tee shirts, and a black sweat shirt with " Metalica " on it. The

comments kids make about " how drunk they got last weekend " or how high they got

smoking pot.

He can't stand the way there is no discipline.

is very mature for his age, and very much into art and music. He's pretty

sophisticated for a 13 year old.

I know, he has to learn to deal with all kinds of people, and jr high is the

WORST school years.

I would really like to home school them all. Some days I feel sure I could do

it, and others I think " what the heck am I thinking? I can't do that! "

I just feel like since they miss so much, and I'm not sure if the teachers are

giving them all their make up work(It's so hard to communicate properly over

e-mail), it would be so much easier if I could just do it. People used to do it

all the time. Used to be everyone was schooled at home. I'm smart enough. I'm

just worried that I'm too tired all the time to do it.

Oh, who knows. Time will tell. Maybe they'll give me some great drug for my

sleep disorder, and it will give me all the energy that was put aside in my body

for the last 25 years, and I'll be a bussy little bee, humming around and

getting everything done, and then some. That would be amazing! haha

I don't know about the law at all. I know that if we had stayed in England, she

would be out of school, probably going to a trade school now. You can get out

of school there at 16 if you want and go to a trade school, or stay in and take

these incredibly difficult, stressful tests to see if you can go on and get into

university. Every year we heard of kids committing suicide over those tests. SO

stressful for those kids.

The kids I knew who were taking them were in a constant stressed out state. A

levels and GCSE's.

You folks in England know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, as far as I know, you HAVE to go to school until you are 18. She'll be

18 in September. Of course, she's still gonna get her diploma after that, but

at least we won't have the damn school breathing down our necks all the time.

Damn schools.

It was all so easy when they were in elementary school.

I just want to tell them " Leave me and my family alone " I'm a good mom, and I'm

doing what is right for my kids, and you can't tell me I'm not! " Get the law on

me, yea right.

Now I'm understanding those separatists a little more. Just let me and my

family live, let ME be the mom, and you can shove your stupid laws

you-know-where!!!!

Maybe instead of moving to Amsterdam, I should move to some obscure mountain top

in Montana or Idaho.

If nothing else, they are beautiful mountains.

Big Sky country - that's were I need to go. beautiful.

Know how u feel- I hate the stress that the school throws off........ constant

calls about how your child didnt do this or that etc.......... In Michigan- I

believe he could drop out at sixteen if he wanted- but I hoped he would not

consider that and when I showed him this program his eyes lit up......... he

too- had the horrible kids making fun of ya for things etc....... his self

esteem was zilch.............. that has changed remarkably too now......... he

realizes he is not dumb- he just learns better one on one..........

I am not sure but I think she can put her credits toward this..........

I'd have to look that one up- didnt have any to put towards it so I started

him out in ninth grade....... Cost would certainly be lessened if they did allow

you to place her credits towards it.

I have no doubt - if you wanted to- and used this program - that you could

enroll them all but it would be costly.......but I look at it this way- the

stress it was causing, having to deal with the school compared to no stress now

over any schooling matter with him............ the cost was soooooooo worth it.

Hugs- TJ

Yes- it is his schooling all together- and I did nothing but sign checks, sign

him up.......... and help him with problems when he runs into them.

It is set up so when you log in as a student- its a computer teacher basically-

You will need to do nothing more than enroll, sign checks and help with an

occasional question here and there from the student.........

All the tests are multiple choice- and open book........... ( sometimes, I think

- open book is harder than guessing at an answer lol )

I have many stresses to deal with and I have to say- enrolling him in this was

like losing 100 lbs.. he is going at his own pace..........which I figured

would be once a month lol- because he didnt hand in homework at school but you

should see him.......... He will sit down daily with books and do his tests, he

wants to graduate young and go on to college ............

When he was enrolled in school- he swore he would never even think about

college........

I think it's cheap!

I was looking into a local Christian private school, and it costs like $6,000.00

a year!

I don't even know if is going to pass all her classes this year. It's

all a big mess.

So, I could enroll her as a 9th grader, and she could start over. They say it

takes 3 years at the most to get your diploma. She has another 3 years of

school anyway. So, it really wouldn't matter.

And, I don't think she really learned anything this year anyway. It wouldn't

hurt for her to take it over. In fact, it probably would be better.

Then, she wouldn't have the humiliation of re-taking freshman classes when she's

a sophmore. Then, she'd end up in the same boat as , and doing credit

restoration and taking longer to finally get that diploma.

I'm gonna check into doing it too. She may prefer this course to doing

the credit restoration at the other school.

Thanks so much! I'm sure I " ll be talking to you about it more.

Can you send me your home e-mail? I still can't get on the ceda site. I've

just been posting by e-mail

That's so great.

My son, , is really smart. He is amazingly smart. He got the form awards

every year (top student) in his school in England. He sort of has a

photographic memory. You can't believe the things he knows.

Anyway, since he's been at this jr high, his grades have slipped (he used to

always get straight A's, now he's getting B's - not bad I know) but, it's

because he's bored, and hates the school. He really really HATES it.

He thinks most of his teachers shouldn't even be teachers. One in particular,

spends most of the class time talking about things that have nothing to do with

the subject he's suppose to be teaching. Then he spends the other half talking

about his baby. says he's learning NOTHING. It's a joke.

spends a lot of his spare time learning things that aren't taught at

school. The stuff at school is like reading a kindergarten book to him. He

really is bored and hates it.

(did I get that point across?) I can't say it enough.

Anyway, he's got to do one more year of jr high. If we decide to get

into this program, maybe will want to do it as well. He misses a lot of

school to due to terrible allergies, and migraines. I also worry that things

may start to get worse for him, cause he's often complaining of knee pain. He's

hypermobile too. I'm worried that EDS is sneaking up on him too. It would be

such a relief to not have to worry about the damn schools on top of everything

else.

You know. I don't know why I keep repeating myself!

lol

Hugs,
