Guest guest
Hi I tried my best but I couldn't find a good source linking HMS/EDS and IBS although I know there is a link. Quite a few of us have IBS (including me) to varying degrees and I think its yet another thing all tied up with the original faulty connective tissue. If anyone has any research, etc... linking EDS/HMS and IBS I would also be greatful to have it for my file I'm building. Take care!!! -Rhea > Does anyone know if the IBS and GI problems are linked more to the > hypermobility symptoms that the other symptoms? > > We have classical and those with the more hypermobility symptoms have > more GI problems than those with the more skin/bleeding problems. > > >

Guest guest
I am unsure if it is more related to H-EDS or not but I can guess it is more prevelant in ALL forms of EDS (than the " normal " population) as our collagen/connective tissue is faulty and thus our GIT is also " faulty " . This is MY opinion and how I get my head about my GI problems and all of my other problems too. Blame it on the collagen we joke about me needing a full collagen transplant, or a Sharon'ectomy (put my brain and soul etc in a body that works properly). Guest guest
I have seen many different types of EDS also include GI issues , this is not indigenous to hypermobility type alone. There is a really good article here for you to read, written by a doctor on our list: http://members.rogers.com/ceda2/prev.htm Jill Hypermobility/IBS Does anyone know if the IBS and GI problems are linked more to the hypermobility symptoms that the other symptoms? We have classical and those with the more hypermobility symptoms have more GI problems than those with the more skin/bleeding problems. To learn more about EDS, visit our website: http://www.ceda.ca
