Guest guest
Oops! I forgot to put in details of my temps and pulse, which I know Topper will want to know. OK well a few weeks ago my daytime pulse was doing well and I was sometimes even getting 72 bpm, mostly 66 bpm. In the past week or so, it's been more like 60 bpm, but I wonder whether that is because I am ready for an increase? Also, since I have divided the dose even more during the day, that might account for the reduction to 60 bpm - steadier T3 during the day? It's about 66 as I take it now (10.30 am). I used to be regularly 54 bpm, sometimes 48 bpm, before treatment. Basal body temps are looking good. Up from 97.1 average monthly before treatment to 97.47 last month. A steady rise - although earlier this week one morning it was 96.5 - unusually low for me. Today it is 97.0 - this is the low time of my cycle. I have read that Propranolol can get in the way of thyroid tests and artificially increase the TSH result. So my T3 is looking good, my T4 is practically non-moving. I am feeling better - I can feel "myself" returning and I feel stronger and am depressed quite rarely now. However, I don't think I'm "there" yet. I'm fairly sure I can convince my doc to increase the dose again, but can anybody see any reason why he might think it inadvisable? My TSH too low? My T3 too high? I would like to formulate informed arguments in case I need them on the spot!First thoughts, anyone?TIAKaty Katy: Thanks for posting your results. If you can't convince him to let you go higher with your armour...tell him you will give 25 mcgs of Synthroid a try to increase your t4. That is just a back-pocket option. Prior to that...TELL him, that you know the t3 is pushing down the TSH..(doesn't count anyway since you are on replacement) so he should really focus on your lowish T4. I'd want to take the Armour as far as I could before the t4 addition...of course. (By the way...my headeaches will not go away, unless my t4 is higher and I can't get there with Armour alone.) ~E:) ~EG Connecticut T-T 27 months ago - 58.03 mcg Synthetic plus 112.5 mg Armour = 198.63 mcgs RATIO: 88 % T4 / 12% T3 Yahoo! Guest guest
Except that the FT4 is also low - mid range being 17.5. Which would indicate a simple increase in the Armour. > >I agree with lilianwise I would have suggested to add straight up T3. >sue > > > > > > > > > > > > > > And, of course, IMHO, your FT3 is way too low ! Not sure if I would do any increase or decrease at this time..how long have you been completely off the Beta Blocker as compared to your last lab values? I am thinking labs again in 2-3 weeks and then make a call or if it has been a while considering your T4 has room to go up and so does your T3 I would ask for another increase.
