Guest guest
Margaret, Thanks for your response. What is coromega cream? I have not had her tested for anything but IG tests through the allergist/infectious disease specialist we took her to in October. I will have her tested soon and I will get tested too. My mother\'s family is full of autoimmune disorders (MS, Lupus, Scleroderma, and allergies) and plenty of disorders linked to metals issues. Do you know any other foods that are high in copper she should avoid besides chocolate? She had chocolate flavored Rice Dream ice cream before bed last Monday and had her worst day of school in ages the next day. I will check the Pfeiffer website. Thanks. Date Sent: 01/31/04 8:12 am ----------------=== message body ===---------------- Dawn, my daughter also had some compliance/attention issues at school, but they seem to get better if I give her zinc, omega 3 acids and probiotics. I use Kirkman\'s zinc, and mix it together with probiotics into her yoghurt. Coromega cream has good taste, and she does not mind eating it. Problems arise immediately if she eats some copper food, for example chocolate, so I try not to give it to her. Do not let the school medicate your child. Many people have some degree of ADHD and it does not prevent them from being successful in life. I, for example, recently checked the symptoms and found that I have them all, but I never was diagnosed with anything! I believe that ADHD is a mild problem comparing to autism and can be corrected with supplements. Check the Pfeiffer center website www.hriptc.org . I would contact some DAN! doctor(better M.D.), or Pfeiffer center, for the case that if the school will insist on medication, you will be able to say that her doctor advises against it. Do you have her hair test? Does it show a problem with mercury, or copper, or something else? That may help too. WE HAVE MADE SURE OF ALL THAT STUFF... HER UNDERWEAR IS NOT TOO TIGHT, IS WASHED IN MILD DETERGENT, IS WHITE AND COTTON... HER PANTS ARE NOT TOO TIGHT (SIZE 6X SLIMS ARE BIG ON HER), AND IT DOESN\'T MATTER IF THE PANTS ARE FLOPPY SWEAT PANTS, HARD JEANS, KNIT PANTS THAT ARE LOOSE ON HER (WOULD BE CLINGY ON A NORMAL WEIGHT CHILD), OR SHORTS. WE DON\'T WASH HER WITH SOAP DOWN THERE AND HAD NOT GIVEN HER A BATH (ONLY SHOWERS) FOR THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF UNTIL A MONTH AGO WHEN WE STARTED GIVING HER EPSOM SALT BATHS (WONDERFUL RESULTS WITH CALMED BEHAVIOR THERE!). HER YEAST INFECTION IS SOMEWHAT UNDER CONTROL WITH TWICE DAILY TOPICAL FUNGAL CREAM APPLICATION AND DAILY USE OF GSE FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS. Guest guest
Dawn, other foods rich in copper are raisins, other dried fruits, mushrooms, seafood, nuts, soy milk, cocoa. You will likely see if your daughter has a copper problem by her hair test. Coromega is a cream containing omega-3 acids, mostly EPA and DHA, which are beneficial for brain development. You can search in the internet and find the cheapest price. Best wishes Margaret > > > I have posted before, but would appreciate input from anyone who > > > has > > > a recommendation for how we should be proceeding with what is > > > > > happening with and to my 6 yr old daughter in first grade. > > > > > > This past October she was diagnosed as ADHD and ODD.
