Guest guest
Thanks for the well wishes and prayers. This is most certainly a trying time for all of us right now. My cell phone rings constantly, and is constantly having to be recharged. I'm so sick of the hospital, but I keep hoping they can wean him off that heart balloon pump that is making his heart beat right now.....and also the respirator that is helping his lungs work. I just keep asking myself, was it really necessary that they do this surgery before the holidays. I honestly don't think he was strong enough to go through this right now. I try very hard to be optimistic, but I've never seen anybody with open heart surgery do this poorly, cept for one guy when first hubby was in the hospital for the same thing. This man who's wife was there daily was on a respirator for quite some time after his heart surgery, and I have no clue whatever happened to him. I used to say a prayer for her everyday, because she sat at the hospital everyday waiting for a good sign that he'd be able to get off. She was there weeks before we were, so his recovery wasn't fast like most people's. We were there 5 days, then out with a great recovery. I'm just at a loss on what to expect next. His oxygen levels were bad, so they had to bump up that machine to breathe more for him today, instead of his lungs doing the work. The heart pump has been bumped down a bit, and he's holding steady with that so far. I'm just exhausted.
