Guest guest
I had a successful cardioversion yesterday. Too bad, in a way, that I was asleep when they pressed the magic button; there must have been so much interesting to see on the monitor. The propathol (I.V. anesthetic) turned off my lights in a flash, and when I awoke, I was back in normal sinus rhythm. On the other hand, my chest felt like it was being flailed with a thousand needles, not like a " mild sunburn " that is given in popular descriptions of cardioversions. I tried hydrocortisone cream, and it helped a little, but Benadryl gel seemed to help more. It is still feeling prickly this morning, but much more bearable. In any event, a small price to pay to be back in NSR. Every time that I get a sinking feeling in my throat, I check my pulse to reassure myself that I am still in NSR. So far, so good. I sure hope this lasts. --Steve
