Get a hold of your doctor!!!! Does Dr Beaule make rounds and visit you

daily?? Speak out to the nurses and ask to contact him. I am sure there is a

number to call or page should there be any patient problems. Usually the doctor

instucts what care is given to the patient. I understand the fear and doubt

about whether or not the right thing is being done. It is your body and you

need to understand that your tratment is correct. if the hospital cannot

contact

the doctor and gat him to the hospital to see you - have a family member,

mate or friend call him for you.

This does not sound right.

I suggest you urgently ask for your surgeon to visit you and explain

your pain / concerns. He should have strong views on what should /

should not be done.

Please post how you get on.

Update:

I survived. The excellent RN(Sue) I had that shift called Dr. Beaule

at 6:30AM, he was atanding over me before 7AM! She even waited until

after he had seen me and stayed with me way after her shift had ended

making sure I would be alright. He said he has seen worse swelling,

and to not be scared, the swelling and pain would improve. His words

combined with the few emails I received made a huge difference, then

he told me he was sending me home, where he expected I would make a

reasonably quick recovery from my awful condition. Pain is again

under control and I have since(before I list it out, yes, I am _that_

crazy) As an example, 1 week before surgery I won a prestigious

automotive magazine shootout at California Speedways road racing

circuit, getting out of my wheelchair to drive a 500 horsepower car.)

Left Hospital in Santa , 41 miles away from my home, across the

worst of Los Angeles freeway system.

Drove my girlfriends Spyder turbo automatic home, so I would not hate

her for every turn she made or bump she ran over.

Slowly, methodically, worked my way out of the car, then walked with

my crutches from the car to the house with quality one foot in front

of the other technique. I had called a local buddy who is fairly

strong to 'spot' each of my steps until I was seated inside then go

get all of my 7 prescriptions filled. Made it to my living room couch

where my girl and I stategized our next moves.

Ordered Pizza, ate, then took the proper pills.

Had my pal remove the door from the bathroom to avoid a 360 degree

turn to shut the door to allow commode access.

Retired to bed under my own power, doing an ice session before taking

a sleeping pill.

Slept 6 consecutive hours for the first time in months.

I am doing much better today, awaiting the nurses arrival from Home

Health, that amazing Dr. Beaule missses nothing, he is incredible.

Thanks for the kind words both on/off the list, this internet

community gives me hope that one cannot put a price tag on. I don't

mean to step on toes, but I consider my religious preference
